Everyone remotely involved with this scandal is going to get shit canned (JoePa included) and the whole Penn State athletic program is is going to be gutted… There probably won’t be any NCAA sanctions though.

If PSU guts their program, what more does the NCAA need to do?

If anything ever warranted the NCAA death penalty, this is it…
Imo if they fire everybody involved, the NCAA should leave it at that. Throw the 2 guys in jail, JoePa gets fired/retires and start fresh. At that point all NCAA sanctions are going to do is punish the current players who were 8-10 years old when this shit went down and had absolutely nothing to do with it.

I agree, but wouldn’t be interesting if the NCAA says, “y’all have two more years. No more recruiting starting now and players have a free pass to transfer. After that, football program is dead for three to five years.”
Kinda helps with not punishing the players. I am sure many of them would be snatched up quickly.

I agree.
I think this is far far far worse than paying players to play or giving them other benefits on the side.
On ESPN this morning, they stated that one of the abuses took place in the Penn State locker room. Pure evil.

It’s worse than that even, ESPN isn’t reporting all the details. He was witnessed 3 times in the Penn State locker room, once anally raping a 10 year old boy and another time sucking a little kid off. All 3 were reported to administration and they never called the police.
The more I think about it, the more disgusted I am. Many people knew what this guy was, and they continued working/socializing with him for years. They chose their jobs and the Penn State image over the lives of these kids.

But LSU still has to play Arkansas so they could get a loss there as well. That would be chaos if Oregon beats Stanford, Oklahoma beats OK State and then Arkansas beats LSU?
To think about it… That would be awesome! Boise and Houston would be left as the lone unbeatens? Sweeeeeeeet!
x2
except I would like to see Ok State win out.
Except I don’t think Boise or Houston would make the NC game even if everyone else did lose a game. Their SOS rankings are shit.

Guys I don’t think the NCAA can do anything to PSU. This is an internal issue regarding a former coach who no longer works within the confines of the NCAA rule book. His actions didn’t benefit the team with wins or recruiting advantages.
As sick and as fucked up as all this is, it’s really not any of the NCAA’s business as far as I can tell. They aren’t the governing body, since this isn’t a rules violation. The state of Pennsylvania is.

Ya, if a 1 loss Alabama is ahead of Boise, a 1 loss LSU would definitely be ahead of Boise. And I can see OU passing Boise if they beat a #2 OSU, but I doubt that will happen with Broyles hurt. Maybe Oregon could too if they beat Stanford.

This sentence right here is why November is a fascinating month of college football.

Unfortunately… ^^This.
The NCAA won’t be handing down any sanctions for this. As disgusting and vile as it is, it’s not really an NCAA issue.
USC- players family gets benefits, no proof that anyone involved with the program knew- tons of sanctions
Auburn- players dad solicits money, clear violation but the NCAA says… “naaaah not this time”- no sanctions
Ohio State- players take quite a few improper benefits, coach knows about it, doesn’t say anything and lies to the NCAA- no sanctions yet and appears that very minor penalties will be imposed
Penn State- Coaches and staff know that a coach/former coach is molesting children in the teams facilities. Penn State lies about it and covers it up- more than likely no sanctions
NCAA = A Joke.
Well, good news for me, Ole Miss made a statement saying they won’t be bringing Nutt back and our AD will be stepping down sometime in 2012. Archie Manning and the CEO of FedEx will be overseeing the coaching selection process. I’m hoping for Kirby Smart myself - though doubtful considering he turned down UGA just a short year ago, but who knows maybe he’s ready to take the reigns himself.

Gross.
Penn state is done for a while…If Paterno losses his job, he will be dead be for the year is out. I guarantee it.
I hate the NCAA that reporter who compared them to the mafia was out of line, they are more like the Third Riecht

Okay, I have been trying to pretend I know what it means when people say “This”, but I don’t.
Is “This” a good thing or a bad thing? What does it mean?

No way in fucking hell I would work with a known Pedo. Fuck that I have integrity and as a father I would have to kick his ass just out of principle. Mother fucker would not be able to walk without a limp for the rest of his life.
Pat - its a variation of “x2”
Now if the pedi coach promised any of the boys greater access to the team or a greater chance of making the team, would that not be a recruiting violation?
What’s going on these days is why we need a playoff, or atleast a plus 1
LSU v Boise
OSU v Stanford
Then the winners play for the title. Losers could still go to NIT esgue bowls.

LSU, Bama, OSU, Stanford would all wipe the floor with Boise. They don’t need to be talked about.
Personally I think Stanford has the best shot at beating bama or lsu.

I don’t believe so.
