If they beat Oklahoma convincingly on Saturday there is a chance that they could leapfrog Bama for number 2. I dont think it’ll happen but it would cause a shit storm with the SEC fanboys.
Would it? I seem to recall saying many times (mostly in real life) that I would like to see a LSU-OK State matchup. Let Alabama kick the ass of some team in a different bowl, let LSU whip the tar outta OK State.

I think SC has done pretty dang well in spite of the sanctions, etc. The kids’ life isn’t ruined, he’s a top NFL prospect as a junior! He might not get a bowl game this year, but damned if he’s not solidified himself as a heavy hitter in quarterback terms.
Who knows if he comes out in the draft, but I don’t think Pete fucked him over to the point where it’s personal.

Okay that was what I was kind of asking. PAC 10 is a little far from here, so I depend on you, Max and Gregthemanwithnoavi to keep up to date on what you hear locally.

New News:
Meyer hired at OSUck
Fixed
How is that new? It’s been on the street since last week! Poor Luke Fickel had to deal with that shitstorm during Michigan week dangit! bangs on podium
I’m in a Pac-12 mood today. Michigan beat OSU, Michigan State is playing Wisconsin in the Big 10 championship this saturday (which, by all accounts is going to be a motherfucking blooooodbath), so I’m content.

I am an LSU fan and I want OK State to jump Alabama. Part of the reason is Saban scares me a little. But seriously, something isn’t right about Alabama getting a bye week while LSU plays in the Conf. Championship with the potential to lose a spot in the BCS title game. (unlikely I know but still possible) Plus, say Bama pulls it out, lifts the crystal ball in Jan. Does that really mean they are the best team in the country by tying with the team that beat them earlier? I also think Conf. Championships should carry significant weight.
That said, yeah LSU-AL, would at least ensure the SEC wins the 6th in a row. Plus, with this Urban Meyer deal, it also means Saban or Miles would get a pay raise of about $1.7 Mil per year since they both have the “win a national championship and you become the highest paid coach in college football” clause in their contracts. I bet the loser still gets about a $1 Mil raise just for getting there again.

Yeah same here. I’m sort of torn on the subject. I want to see the two best teams in the NC game, no matter who they are. If Ok. State really takes OU to the shed I think theres a good case to be made for them depsite losing to a mediocre ISU. But what bothers me more is if we are going to compare loses then shouldn’t Stanford be getting more love than Ok. St?
Of all the losses between Bama, Standford and Ok. St. the loss to ISU is by far the worst.
On another subject theres way more crying on these boards by the anti-SEC fanboys than any body else.

From Gator Nation to Urban Meyer…ouch
Boo Hoo.
There would have been uprising even if he waited a dozen seasons before taking another job.
At least he didn’t take the Ole Miss job to try and Butt-F his old team, and you know he got calls.
FWIW, as a Michigan fan this is a spooky hire. Just when Hoke was bringing the smashmouth back to the bighouse Urban is going to bring a full court press with crazy formations and a heavy handed defense.
It’s goona get interesting.
Hoke was Ball States’ HC until he went to SDSU, so he has Ohio connections as well, plus he’s from there. Time in SDSU showed he has a southern california connection also. It’s a firesale for recruits now, especially all those kids that were lining up to play for JoePa who have since changed their mind.

Well, its official now. I had a funny retort but then remember your comments in the Home Depot last man standing thread…(slowly backing away)

My buddy Bob is a DIE HARD Michigan fan and was at the game Saturday… He made a comment to me that really stuck…
If Urban Meyer signed with Ohio State that must mean that the sanctions Ohio State is going to get are pretty minimal. Sucks.
As a SC fan I was really hoping that Ohio State was going to get hammered but this hiring is just another indication (to me anyway) that they aren’t going to get much of a punishment.
Not even cars or fancy trips. Tattoos and whatnot.
And Sweatervest stepped down pretty quickly and didn’t fight it. In hindsight, he fell on the sword.
I say bring it on. I don’t want OSU to suck. I want the rivalry game to be a balls out lay it all on the line game every year. That means some losses, sure, but there shouldn’t be clear dominance of one team over another. When that happens, The Game loses its’ flavor.
That’s what makes this particular rivalry so great.
In the end, it’s been OSU’s success and dominance over the last 7 years against Michigan that caused the whole scandal. If Michigan would have been a better team and won some of those rivalry games, the players wouldn’t have been able to trade their Big-10 championship rings and gold pants for ink!
So in the end, Michigan sucking ass since 2003 was the reason for Sweatervest stepping down.

Amen to that shit. It’s fun to gloat after big wins and a streak like we just had, but the rivalry was built on National Championship ruining upsets and late 4th quarter, season defining plays, and even though it sucks to lose, Saturday’s game was a real return to that excitement.
