From Gator Nation to Urban Meyer…ouch

Boo Hoo.

There would have been uprising even if he waited a dozen seasons before taking another job.

At least he didn’t take the Ole Miss job to try and Butt-F his old team, and you know he got calls.

FWIW, as a Michigan fan this is a spooky hire. Just when Hoke was bringing the smashmouth back to the bighouse Urban is going to bring a full court press with crazy formations and a heavy handed defense.

It’s goona get interesting.

Hoke was Ball States’ HC until he went to SDSU, so he has Ohio connections as well, plus he’s from there. Time in SDSU showed he has a southern california connection also. It’s a firesale for recruits now, especially all those kids that were lining up to play for JoePa who have since changed their mind.

Even the idea that Meyer’s agent would take calls from Ole Miss cracks me up. Ole Miss: All of the SEC pressure, none of the talent.

Okay didnt want to take over BG’s thread.

That game was a combination of outstanding UT defense and A&M defense. UT I knew would be “rebuilding” this year, you cant go from running the spread for 8-9 years and now run a pro-style offense. The Defense is young and has been pretty solid all year considering the anemic offense.

A&M lacks some play makers on the outside and they had banged up RB’s is the only reason UT won. As a football guy, A&M had a better all around team and I think would win 4 out of 5 games at this point. I hope A&M doesnt do something stupid like fire Sherm, they are on the right track.

Now they can be my SEC team to help fuck up LSU and Bama seasons.

So I guess I can rely on UT screwing the teams in Texas’s attic.

Kind of sucks being like Georgia and Georgia Tech now.

Yes PMPM will still worry about UT every year.

Now Mack just needs to decide on a QB

OK State is gaining on Alabama in the human polls.

If they beat Oklahoma convincingly on Saturday there is a chance that they could leapfrog Bama for number 2. I dont think it’ll happen but it would cause a shit storm with the SEC fanboys.
Would it? I seem to recall saying many times (mostly in real life) that I would like to see a LSU-OK State matchup. Let Alabama kick the ass of some team in a different bowl, let LSU whip the tar outta OK State.
I am an LSU fan and I want OK State to jump Alabama. Part of the reason is Saban scares me a little. But seriously, something isn’t right about Alabama getting a bye week while LSU plays in the Conf. Championship with the potential to lose a spot in the BCS title game. (unlikely I know but still possible) Plus, say Bama pulls it out, lifts the crystal ball in Jan. Does that really mean they are the best team in the country by tying with the team that beat them earlier? I also think Conf. Championships should carry significant weight.

That said, yeah LSU-AL, would at least ensure the SEC wins the 6th in a row. Plus, with this Urban Meyer deal, it also means Saban or Miles would get a pay raise of about $1.7 Mil per year since they both have the “win a national championship and you become the highest paid coach in college football” clause in their contracts. I bet the loser still gets about a $1 Mil raise just for getting there again.
Just more proof that this BCS system is the most convoluted, fucked up system in all of sports. If it turns out right it’s on pure luck.

Well, I already root for Arkansas except when they play A&M. Of course, if I want A&M in a conference inwhich I do not root for anyone which would leave some of the outer rings of hell conferences like the ACC, Big Least or, shutter to think, the Pac-12.

I’m that way with Auburn, I want them to win every game until the last one when Bama crushes them.

And now Washington States’ HC just got fired.

I can only assume Mike Leech is getting blown by all three Pac-12 vacancies right now.

Do you all think he’ll take a job in the Pac-12?

Which one?

UCLA
Arizona State
Washington State?

My gut says UCLA, that would be fascinating.

I agree. The guy likes a challenge but UCLA seems the logical choice. I hope he gets a coaching gig soon. His ability to do more with less was.impressive.

Rumors are flyin that Ole Miss is goin after him, dunno if he would come to the SEC…though if he is wanting a challenge, rebuilding Ole Miss will provide a good one.

I think his style of ball is more Pac-12 than SEC, speed over brute force

Dude he wants a step up not a Mission Impossible.

LA or back woods, bubba squeal like a pig Missisip?

Dixie Please.

I can’t wait to see UCLA get hammered by Oregon, a 6-loss team goes to a conference championship…FAIL.

I am going to be dishing up some serious crow for a couple of posters when Bama gets in the NC game.
