So the reports are now saying Urban Meyer to Ohio State, 7 yrs $40 million.
I gotta say, even though the rumors of this have been swirling for quite some time, I still find this surprising.
First of all, despite being the best coach in the business, he’s never lasted that long anywhere.
He has proven that he can build championship quality teams in short order, but Ohio State will be a little bit different since he will likely be somewhat hamstrung by as-yet-undetermined NCAA sanctions. Braxton Miller is the ideal QB to build his system around like he did with Alex Smith and Tim Tebow, but I don’t know if he can do that again with the kind of obstacles the Ohio State program will be facing.
Given his typical longevity at his previous stops, and whatever length and severity NCAA sanctions will be, this will be interesting. This is quite the coup for OSU.

It was the clear and evident choice as soon as sweatervest stepped down.
Not that it makes me happy, of course, but it is what it is.
Do you hear that?
It’s the sound of every previously embarrassed OSU Alum and supporter putting on their hoodies and slapping a fresh sticker on their cars.

Final Score: 3-2. What an exciting game!
In both cases the game comes down to the final second and you have to watch every second because you don’t know if thats going to be the one make or break play.

Yes that is called Soccer in America…
trolololololololololol

Like I said, when soccer has a 6’4" 265lb linebacker killing QB’s I’ll be the first person to watch it.
I went back and edited Brad and it disappeared.
I have been gone for work, so been out of the loop.

I think it will be good for Arizona, and for RichRod.
Arizona needs to shake things up, get competitive again, especially with ASU heading maybe in that direction. And, this is the type of situation Rich Rod should have been in when he left WVU rather than taking the helm of a program that was already successful but beginning to get stale under the leadership of Lloyd Carr.
I think RichRods scheme offesively will do well more immediately in the Pac-12, especially with schools like Oregon and Cal (a little bit) running it already. We’ll see.
In my mind, as a Michigan fan, I think he paid his dues, (hopefully) learned his lesson, and good for him getting another shot at a head coaching position. He’s not escaping Michigan vitriole by going to AZ though. Tons of Alumni live in that state.
I think his scheme fits AZ way beter than it did Michigan. Not sure he can get enough athletes at AZ to really win though.
Probably not right away, but he recruited Denard Robinson out of Florida, and I’m sure when he’s in the living room that name will get tossed around quite a bit.

Do we have a Heisman race ? Barkley vs Luck ?
As of today Barkley has Luck beat in all passing stats but completion % and QB Rating.
Luck is whipping Matt in rushing though. Has one more rushing TD than Barkley too.
If they’re giving to the complete football player, I say Luck has the edge. Unfortunate for Barkley, he isn’t in a system where the QB rushes at all.
Also, if you want to dig into overall stats, you have to build Case Keenum (HOU), Kellen Moore (BOISE ST), Brandon Weeden (OK ST) and Landry Jones (OK) into the mix.
Running Backs? Stand alone dominator Montee Hall from Wisconsin.

That UT/Aggie game was some kind of ugly. Tons of penalties, turnovers, and all around bonehead plays. But what a fantastic finish.

So far Arkansas is playing true to form for the last few years aganist top flight teams. Start strong and then mental errors trip them up. Don’t be too surprised if this game ends 42-21.
