Okay I’ll bite.
How is a game where both defenses are so dominant that any one score could be the back breaker any more or less exciting than a game where both offenses are so dominating that the only score that matters is the last one?
In both cases the game comes down to the final second and you have to watch every second because you don’t know if thats going to be the one make or break play.
One has great defensive play and less so offensive play.

Its all a matter of perspective greg.
and what is your perspective DF? Considering that no matter what happens your team is going to get screwed? (I really hope they give it to LSU on friday)

are you talking about soccer/futball?
EDIT: FIXED
If soccer had monster hits and linebackers jacking up QB’s then yes.
So basically you just don’t care about defense. Like the NBA?

I’m just busting you balls man.
College football fans are BY FAR the most easily worked up/emotional/blinded by fandom fans of any sport… I was just messin with ya man.
I like/appreciate good defense but CANNOT STAND inept offense (which was showcased in droves during “The College Football Game of the Century”

I wasn’t bothered, mostly curious.
So when is an offense inept and when is it shut down by a great D?
Because the difference seems to hinge on how you feel about the team/conference/staings.

My perspective on a 3-2 outcome? I love watching smashmouth grind it out football. I also love the high flying offense that the Hogs have at the moment. I loved watching D-Mac and Felix tear the field up with run after run after run.
My point was that you say it would be terrible, others say it would be exciting, its all in the eye of the beholder.
And regarding Arkansas getting screwed, I see it as not winning when we needed to (against Alabama) earlier this season. We reap what we sow.
The tie breaker/BCS mess is nothing new, and not unexpected. Would it be very frustrating to have it work out that way? Yeah. Did an undefeated Auburn team get kept out of the national title a few years back? Yeah.
I agree that a low scoring game because of great defense can be a very exciting game. But, the offense has to either be more physical, more cerebral, or more gutsy to make it a good game. A touchdown or two are needed. Watching a four quarter scrum between the 40s gets old pretty damn fast.

I think it will be good for Arizona, and for RichRod.
Arizona needs to shake things up, get competitive again, especially with ASU heading maybe in that direction. And, this is the type of situation Rich Rod should have been in when he left WVU rather than taking the helm of a program that was already successful but beginning to get stale under the leadership of Lloyd Carr.
I think RichRods scheme offesively will do well more immediately in the Pac-12, especially with schools like Oregon and Cal (a little bit) running it already. We’ll see.
In my mind, as a Michigan fan, I think he paid his dues, (hopefully) learned his lesson, and good for him getting another shot at a head coaching position. He’s not escaping Michigan vitriole by going to AZ though. Tons of Alumni live in that state.

So the reports are now saying Urban Meyer to Ohio State, 7 yrs $40 million.
I gotta say, even though the rumors of this have been swirling for quite some time, I still find this surprising.
First of all, despite being the best coach in the business, he’s never lasted that long anywhere.
He has proven that he can build championship quality teams in short order, but Ohio State will be a little bit different since he will likely be somewhat hamstrung by as-yet-undetermined NCAA sanctions. Braxton Miller is the ideal QB to build his system around like he did with Alex Smith and Tim Tebow, but I don’t know if he can do that again with the kind of obstacles the Ohio State program will be facing.
Given his typical longevity at his previous stops, and whatever length and severity NCAA sanctions will be, this will be interesting. This is quite the coup for OSU.

Yes that is called Soccer in America…
trolololololololololol

Like I said, when soccer has a 6’4" 265lb linebacker killing QB’s I’ll be the first person to watch it.

I think his scheme fits AZ way beter than it did Michigan. Not sure he can get enough athletes at AZ to really win though.
