Coach Davies, What this I feel In my shoulder....

First off Coach, thanks for all of you time you spend answering these questions in the T-Forum. I know we all appreciate it. My question is: I was doing a shoulder workout on Monday. Sarted with dumbell laterals very heavy, then dumbell front raises pretty heavy, then I ended with reverse lateral movement on the pec fly machine for my rear delts. Well normally I don’t do military presses, they just don’t make my shoulders grow and i feel like I am over training my chest, but today i decided to grab some 70lb dumbells and do a couple of sets to finish it out. Well first rep of the set right shoulder it really stiff and i can feel some some crackling- but no pain. By now my shoulders have that unmistakable shoulder workout stinging like holy water on the devil from lactic acid buildup. But i continue on and do another set of dumbell presses - and I feel the same crackling - but still no more pain than the usual shoulder day. Later that night shoulder feel like it cramping underneath the heads of the deltoid accompanied by a stinging sensation. Well that was monday and it is Wed now, stinging and crampy feeling is gone excepr for some soreness I can still feel exactly where the crampyfelling was. I doesn’t hurt to do pullups, bench press, or most movements. The only time i can fell it is when using my right arm to open a child proof pill bottle-like the tribex-500. What have i done to my shoulder? Is it just muscle soreness i am not used to from the military press? ANy advice would be appreciated.

Well if you can bench, do dips, pull-ups without any pain i think you will be alright. i would probably saty away from the military presses though.

First of all, try to learn a lesson in what I say, not what I do. I would suggest that you rest your shoulder and visit a reputable physician in your community who understands injuries of an athletic nature. Once you get medical clearance, I will be honored to help. In faith, Coach Davies
