Hey has anyone else seen Coach Davies sample functional training program over at infinity fitness? Definitely has some unique stuff there. Also for all those that train with k-bells. Has anyone used the k-bell handles from fractional plates? If so are they worthwhile for doing the various overhead kettlebell movements?
-Thanks
What’s up Kelly? I haven’t checked out the sample program yet, but I have purchased a kettlebell from Dragondoor. I like it! I know Mike Mahler recommends the ones from Ironmind that allow you to add or subtract weight. But the Dragondoor kettlebell is cool too!
Yeah got the program, via the VIP letter but haven’t done anything with it yet apart from have a quick read and cringe.
I have the KB handle from Piedmont design and it is well made and worth getting. You can load 10, 10 lb plates on it and including the handle equals 110lbs. I can do KB snatches with 90lbs for sets of ten and one arm presses with a 80lb Kb for reps. Dragondoor’s Kettlebells only go up to 72lbs and they are damn expensive. I have also heard that they are easier to use which in my book is a negative. Regardless, I would like to have the authentic kettlebells for my home gym and they do look like high quality products. If I were you I would start off with the handle if you have some 10lb plates at home and see if you enjoy KB training before purchasing dragondoors.
Mike, Do you have the rotational or fixed handle? 12" long seems pretty big. What is the
width of a standard KBell?
These are certainly more affordable.
My KB does not rotate and I do not recommend the rotating KBS. The length is just fine and I find it very effective.
Mike where did you find those kettlebell handles?
Hey Kelly, try here.
