thats what i mean you are either the type to do something to redeem your self respect or you are not . its all about choices . i personally would not be able to sleep and feel like a total arse wipe until i beat the shit out of him myself . but if i was that guy i would have done the same as what he did at that time as there were 2 or more bouncers in the locked room with him . if he had done it right (got him on his own n sorted him out) the chances of getting caught would be about 1 out of a hundred so again choices do it or dont do it ? .

I was in Paris in 2007 and recall a ride on the metro where I saw a Chinese, Indian, and French dude all arguing over politics. I think Sarkozy had just been elected (or it was a scandal with the previous guy) and I remember them all arguing like NEIGHBORS. That blew my mind, because you could tell that, while they likely had some pride in their “mother roots,” they probably considered themselves Frenchman, first and foremost, at least I would think so if they were so passionate about an issue like politics. And, they were sitting together, none of this racial grouping bullshit you see in most areas. Sitting together and INTERACTING, not sitting together out of circumstance (i.e. no other seats available).

You don’t see that in the States, at least not where I am, and I live in one of the most affluent, diverse parts of the country. Nope, you see “Chinatown,” “Japantown,” “Korea Town,” Indian and Afghani and Viet neighborhoods.

I would prefer if we went the way of Brazil. A Brazilian guy I worked with said, “My neighbors in Sao Paulo were Dutch, Palestinian, Japanese, and Italian, and we would all play futbol and go to each other’s houses for dinner and hang out.”

They were “Brazilian” first and foremost. We need to stop tagging shit. This is also why I’ve been against bilingual education.

Sorry, this may sound insensitive to the topic, but what stands out to me is how freaking big the bouncer looked in that bathroom compared to the guy he was assaulting.

but in the other videos, he does not look big at all.

sort of validates what some others have said on this thread regarding how he picked an easy target…just how tiny was that little white guy he was attacking? damn.

also, I have stated it before in other threads…I am so tired of seeing lily white weaklings getting beatdown by brown people in these viral videos.

more white people need to join a boxing gym (or mma gym these days I suppose, boxing is so yeserday, lol)

If that were me I wouldn’t give the reporter the time of day. I couldn’t care less about looking the reporter in the eye, I would just want to minimize news coverage of myself.

Angry crowds always have the worst perception of justice…something about emotions getting in the way of good judgment.

Let’s NOT try to facilitate a racist prison gang assaulting [or killing] this guy if he does time. Or take solace in that happening.

What he did was bad, and he seemed to enjoy it a lot and really relished doing it but in the grand scheme of things there are a lot worse crimes being committed.

He beat some guy up and took his money, and scared the shit out of him in he process. And videotaped it. It was pretty malicious but overall the actions themselves don’t amount to this great injustice that deserves so much attention and backlash. It wasn’t a murder or something.

Hopefully the courts will give him a fair punishment, but as others have said if anything they’ll probably be too harsh because of the nature of this case. Hoping for him to get an ass kicking in jail [as in, after he gets his punishment] is just being mean spirited under a thin veil of righteousness.

I KNOW most people are factoring in his enjoyment of the acts in question, or the chance he’s done this before when they are deciding what he deserves…they shouldn’t be.

What he did was morally wrong. Your arguments were fine until the “it wasn’t murder or something” comment, bringing back to the realm of relativity–it’s flawed, so please don’t use it. See previous replies as to why it is flawed.

It was bad as a matter of precedent, as a “tip of the iceberg,” what-could-it-have-led-to, as a bait for other people to ridicule the white kid and for other bouncers or bigger guys to bully around a smaller person. It’s not just about the quantitative OUTCOME of what happened, it’s about what it represented.

He needs to be made an example of. That’s called being “pro-active.” If we only did something about it had the white kid died, it would’ve been “reactive.” For him to be picked on in prison by a group like the Aryan Brotherhood? That’s called PERSPECTIVE, as in “see it through my eyes, motherfucker.”

What’s worse is that most patrons wouldn’t know their rights vs those a bouncer, so they’ll play along with whatever situation the bouncer puts them in, and THIS bouncer (and I best most) knew that.

I wish Waylander was here to comment on this. He’s a bouncer or at least was.
