I am currently doing the first week of 1-6 training and the program calls for close grip parellel chins. I don’t have anywhere where I can do these at my gym so I need a substitute. I could do close grip parellel towel chins(would this be too hard?) Any other suggestions.

What I do is to lay the safety pins across the top of my rack and use them for grips. I can make them any width I like. You might be able to do similar at your gym.
To quote from an old Poliquin back-training article: “If your gym doesn’t have a parallel-grip pull-up station, use an underhand (chin-up) grip”.
Hmmmmmmmmm a good idea if I can find a way of securing them, thanks for the suggestions

Use close grip supinated chins instead. The movement will be very similar.
Your gym doesn’t have a “triangle” for pull-downs? If it does, just take that and lay it over the pullup bar.
Use the V-Bar/Neutral grip attachment that always gets used for seated cable rows. Drape it sideways over a regular chinning bar.
Groove, you may also want to try other ways of creating this grip. At my gym, I take a close-grip attachment (the kind normally used for low cable rows) and hang it over a pullup bar. It’s been working well for me thus far, just be careful about hitting your head =)
Hope this helps.
Yah wehave a triangle I could put over but like John warned, I was worried about hitting my head. It was gonna be the first thing I tried in thr gym tomorrow. This was mostly a backup post in case that didn;t work out so I wouldn;t be tuck in the gym
Thanks,

Ahh, the glory of parallel grip chins. So satisfying. (Perhaps because one can use the most external loading on them.) Yeah dude, if possible try to use that triangle grip. I find, for myself, that there is a significant difference between supinated and parallel grip. Probably because the bis are a weak point. So you’re using 1/6 with chins? Excellent! Single rep chin workouts are a blast.
Yah the triangle worked out perfectly except for one single where I put a little to much force into it and hit my head. Damn Power drive. hehehe. It feels alot better to be able to put some extra weight on for chins for once instead on BW.
