Close Grip Bench and Close Grip Chins

What is so magical about 16 sets? Are you getting 4x the benefit as you would with 4 sets?

nothing magical, it just works for me
I use to do 20 an I didnt really get a huge strength increase
I did 10-12 an i was undertrained, I felt I could do more
and I also didn’t have a huge strength increase
however, with 16 sets for big muscles chest, back, and legs
I have attained better strength gains this way
for someone else they might do less or more
depending on how much volume an how heavy they lift
they might do more or less sets an it will stimulate there muscles
but this 16 set range for big muscles works for me

OP: Don’t you think that your recent strenght increases are more likely due to changes in exercise selection than finding the “perfect number of sets?”

looking back, I can’t even believe that was the question: does CGBP count as a tricep or chest exercise or both? and the same with close grip chins, does it count as a biceps movement?
