Clenbuterol?

I Met a guy tonight who swore by Clen and the atkins diet to lose weight before my fight. I looked clen up and I don’t think i want to take this shit it looks dangerous. Any comments? Are my fears unfounded? Let me know you guys.

Do some more research on clen and you’ll find out that its not too bad. Peace.

Hey 10ACFighter,

I recognized your name from another forum with Gilga, Hunter, Thorshammer, etal.

I’ve used clen about 10 years ago and it was great back then. Nowadays there are better alternatives. I liked ephidrine and caffeine stacks. Unfortunately, Ephidrine is available, but rather hard to find. And if you find it, sometimes they run out fast.

If I was you I’d get some HOT-ROX on this site. I don’t mean to be a nutrider (you’ll know what I mean ;). And look into the T-dawg diet 2.0. The Atkins diet will leave you flat and drained of energy.

The HOT-ROX will help preserve muscle as you diet down. I’ve seen it first hand with three of my comrades. I’ll be using it come springtime. They all swear by this stuff!!

And the T-dawg 2.0 will address the carb situation, so you don’t get that flat feeling. Just use the search engine and read the article, you’ll see. Hope that helps and Good luck on your upcoming fight!!

One more thing, If you can get some Alpha Male too. It will help you be on top of things. Get it and you will see what I mean!! Peace Out!!!
“Sancho”

It may not be that dangerous, but it’s not all that effective either. Most people that I know have had better results with HOT-ROX.

By the way, the Adkins diet is a poor choice for athletes. You need carbs to perform. Might want to look into the T-Dawg Diet or John Berardi’s Don’t Diet approach instead.

I’m currently on a cylce that includes clen and I’m also an amateur MMA fighter, so I feel like my experience is very relevant to your question.

I found I did lose some weight on the clen, but I felt like half the time is was dehydration and not a true loss of fat as I’d sweat a lot in my sleep. I also found I would get tire much more quickly during training sessions. Nothing crazy, but my heartrate would pick up at a faster rate.

I’ve just restarted taking clen (it’s a 6 week cylce with clen in weeks 1-2 and 5-6) and I’m remembering some of the other sides I had forgotten. They’re nothing terrible, but I do notice them. My lower jaw gets somewhat sensitive for some reason and a get a general agitation if I have to stand around doing something really boring.

All and all I wouldn’t recommend it too highly for a fighter trying to lose weight due to the way it can cut into cardio output, but everyone’s different.

It took me a long time before I tried it because I was also concerned about saftey and Brock always said he hates it. But honestly, Clen + T3 and a very controled diet has given me the best cutting results outside of Tren - and I’ve tried ALL the top supplements. The best tip I’ve found is to take Benedryl at night because Clen causes sleepless ness and the Benedryl will maximize effectiveness through the 2nd week of your cycle.

I’m a boxer/MMA and I’ve used Clen and T3 and cyclical ketogenic diets.

I wouldn’t use T3 without steroids because it will eat muscle as well as fat.
The other two I would say are unsuitable for fight preparation. Ketogenic diet will leave you drained and feeling like shit. You just won’t get much out of training while on.

The clenbuterol only slightly affected my cardio but I have read it stops the body’s adaption to exercise so all that cardio training will be for nought while on it. And I definitely didn’t feel I was getting fitter whilst on it so I could well be true.

(not my area of interest, just saw this and then the thread here)

{beta}2-Adrenergic receptor stimulation in vivo induces apoptosis in the rat heart and soleus muscle.

Burniston JG, Tan LB, Goldspink DF.

Research Institute for Sports and Exercise Sciences, Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool, United Kingdom.

High doses of the beta2-adrenergic receptor (AR) agonist, clenbuterol, can induce necrotic myocyte death in the heart and slow-twitch skeletal muscle of the rat. However, it is not known if this agent can also induce myocyte apoptosis and whether this would occur at a lower dose than previously reported for myocyte necrosis. Male Wistar rats were given single subcutaneous injections of clenbuterol. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect myocyte specific apoptosis (detected on cryosections using a caspase 3 antibody and confirmed using annexin V, single-strand DNA labelling and TUNEL). Myocyte apoptosis was first detected at 2 h, and peaked 4 h after clenbuterol administration. The lowest dose of clenbuterol to induce cardiomyocyte apoptosis was 1 microg kg(-1), with peak apoptosis (0.35 +/- 0.005 %; P<0.05) occurring in response to 5 mg kg(-1) . In the soleus, peak apoptosis (5.8 +/- 2 %; P<0.05) was induced by the lower dose of 10 microg kg(-1). Cardiomyocyte apoptosis occurred throughout the ventricles, atria and papillary muscles. However, this damage was most abundant in the left ventricular subendocardium at a point 1.6 mm, that is, approximately one-quarter of the way from the apex towards the base. beta-AR antagonism (involving propranolol, bisoprolol or ICI 118,551) or reserpine was used to show that clenbuterol-induced myocardial apoptosis was mediated through neuromodulation of the sympathetic system and the cardiomyocyte beta1-AR, whereas in the soleus direct stimulation of the myocyte beta2-AR was involved. These data show that when administered in vivo, beta2-AR stimulation by clenbuterol is detrimental to cardiac and skeletal muscles even at low doses, by inducing apoptosis through beta1- and beta2-AR, respectively.

Whew! Berner. That’s some post.

Guys. I am a recovering clen user…not abuser. I use to take up to 6 tabs with 6 meals a day. My cardio was just as intense before I went on clen. Clen gave me major results: rapid fat loss, and boost of energy; yes…rapid heart rate. Also, I weight trained so I wouldn’t look puny. But, yeah! Clen works if you diet right and train hard. Just don’t forget that it has to be cycled.

HOT-ROX, huh? I’ll check that out.

I have found that clen and leg workouts don’t mix - catching my breath after a set of heavy squats was almost frightening!

I had the same thing happen to me!! My heart was racing, and it didn’t want to slow down. Finally after 15 minutes (which seemed like an eternity) my breathing and heart rate slowed. This was also doing a heavy leg day.

As with anything clen or any other medication, extreme caution should be taken. For some people can’t tolerate what others find perfect for them.

The only thing I’ll ever use clen for is it’s anti-catabolic properties. I’ve gotten results at 60 mcgs while eating some pretty massive amounts of calories during pct.

yes but it lowers IGF-1 which isn’t productive

True, which is why once again Maximum Strength HOT-ROX is the best choice.
