Chicks Dig 5/3/1

Regular 5/3/1 for the main lifts except bench but bench is…
Week 1: 5x5 with 75%
Week 2: 5x3 wkth 85%
Week 3: 5x1 with 95%
I like this set up and will use it eventually for everything when on 1s week I can’t get 5 reps with the weight

Stealing this for my squat

This is ‘Advanced 5/3/1’, right? I made a friend who use to post on here a weird full body/upper lower split with those percentages and he’s making a ton of progress on it.

I like this set up, because my main bitch with 531 for young athlete’s is the lack of volume in the pocket, and this set up solves this problem. I think you’ll see beter strength gains with this set up. good stuff

I do think volume is very important for raw guys. I feel like we need to “make the weight stick” and then “carry it around” for a while.

if you want the renegade diet book cough cough I have it cough cough

Yessir…I like it a lot, I try and pause the first 3 sets and do tng on the last 2

This is the exact reason why I feel like the 3x3 at 90% of that days weight is the main reason I’m doing well right now

I’m sometimes a volume whore…especially for back and shoulders

Ebook?

Cycle 6 week 3 day 4
SQUAT
235x5
270x3
295x6 PR

PAUSED SQUATS
2x3 with 265 with belt and wraps

Biceps and abs
Awesome “1s” week overall
I think pausing bench, pausing OHP at the bottom and top, going double overhand and belt less on deads, and going belt less on squats on every set except for my top set on 3s and 1s week and some of the pause work is really making the top sets feel really good. Hopefully I can keep squeaking out PRs for awhile

Haha, I made the weight stick around my middle, and I’ve been carrying it around for awhile  but your right, I call it owning a weight, it’s one thing to hit 315 for a 1RM, but it’s different, and better to get it for 6x3, a couple weeks in a row, and know you own it. Either way good stuff Chobbs
