I really like the 5/3/1 template of…
5x5 with 75%
5x3 with 85%
5x1 with 95%

what is this template I’ve never seen it, I thought I was up on most of the 531 templates…share the knowlage

I liked this too.

But JW seemed to not like it for beginners… said something like of course it’ll work, but it’s for those who are advanced enough standard 5/3/1 delivers even to slow of progress. Idk, I could be making that up. lol

LOL, I’ve been using 531 template for me or my guys for 5ys, I know it works i’ve just never heard of the 5x5 / 531 crossover type template, I’ll look it up. sounds like what I’m doing, thanks chobbs

Yea he said that…I may try it for my bench since I wont be getting 5 reps with 95% of my max anymore lol

75%–5x5
85%–3x5
95%—531
Seems more doable for beginers, and probably what I`m going to end up doing, with some back off sets on the 3rd week, instead of all the singles. 2cents

RANT I am by no means any sort of strong, aesthetic, or knowledgeable lifter, but I try to be the best I can be. Every time a beginner comes on here with a legitimate question that we all know that more than likely <10% of them will take the advice, we make it sound so easy, yet how many of us have actually done it and listened to our own advice?
“How do I get strong?”
-“compound lifts and eat alot”
“How do I get bigger”
-“Squat 3 times a week and eat as much as you want”
I’ve done this and I’m sure most of us have but shit. How can you give someone advice on how to gain weight when you weigh 150 lbs?
