Hey All,
Quick question! Does anyone know how many calories, protein, carbs, and fat are in one chicken breast? I went to fitday.com (which has a HUGE database) and they didnt have the info I needed. I eat it skinless and I usually bake it in a pan (without oil or spray). Sometimes I use a crock pot to make a bunch of them at the same time. Oh, by the way…does cooking chicken breast in a crock-pot alter the nutritional value at all, in terms of degrading protein? Just curious. Thanks!
How much does the chicken breast weigh?
(This is kind of basic…)
Hey, Tony, if you really get into this food log thing you’re going to have to break down and get a nutritional desk reference. A good one might run you $18. I can’t live without mine. The level of detail is unbeatable. I get information for cooked chicken, uncooked chicken, diced chicken, chicken with the skin on, without the skin, dark meat, white meat, with the bone, boneless, fried, as part of an entry. . . you get the idea. (grin)
Chicken breast, roasted, breast meat only, 4 ounces, 181 calories, 35.2g of protein, 4g of fat.
HEy TT,
Where can I purchase a nutritional desk reference? Oh, and after reading one of your threads the other day between you and Timbo…I purchased NHE! Looks pretty interesting to say the least!
Tony, you can get a nutritional desk reference at any bookstore or even amazon.com. All you need is something that lists fat grams, protein grams, carb grams, calories and fiber. The reason you want fiber is that it is subtracted from (total) carb grams. Fiber is a subset of carbs.
