Chicago City Gyms

I am relocating to Chicago and am looking for a gym.

I will be living in Wicker Park off the blue line el at either the Division or Damen stop. Can anyone recommend a good and easily accessible gym?

I don’t need a strictly powerlifting gym but I do deadlift and I do use chalk when I lift.

I’m also looking for my girlfriend so there must be treadmills and machines aplenty in addition to allowing chalk and deadlifting.

Any suggestions?

I have friends in that area and when I visit typically train here:

Chicago Fitness Center Inc.
3131 N. Lincoln Ave.
Chicago, IL 60657

I am sure there are others but I have never had any issues there.

I have no idea if this is near you or not, but you may like it:

apwsearch, CFC looks like it might be a possibility.

Tags, wow! Ed Coan trains/trained there-- very cool but a little far.

anyone else?

I’m not from Chicago but I do know that Quad’s has at least two locations in the metro Chicago area.

And I’m sure it would be worth the extra travel time if you can spare it. Ed’s a cool dude.

Yeah, Quads really isn’t an option unless you can go there strictly at non peak times and don’t mind driving a fair distance.

There’s a bus that drops off right there at the corner of Lincoln for CFC. Go check it out.

Yup. That sounds right.

check out 87th street bally’s that is where robert vick and big tommy harrison train, great benchers. Look up my boy Zach Kroeger at phenomenal fitness on micjigan ave. Also to leaning tower YMCA near skokie. Other than that search on chicagopowerlifting.com for other gyms.
