Chest Workout

I just joined a gym and started doing some weight lifting and some cardio.I just want some really good exercise and weight lifting exercise for my chest and biceps. I weigh about 280lb and 5 feet and 8 inches. The main part of my body i want to work out is my chest to get rid of my man boobs. If anyone can give me a good guide i would really appreciate it, thanks.

The 3 stickies at the top of the beginner section have more info than you’ll ever need.

lowering your bodyfat would probably do more to get rid of ‘man boobs’ than any weight training for your chest muscles.

i dont think you can specifically target one spot to remove fat, it has to be an overall fat loss. i could be wrong.

Read the four stickys in this forum…That should give you a pretty good place to start from.

Man Boobs or Moobs as they are sometimes referred will only go away if you lose the fat. Targeting the problem area is a common misconception.

Best way to loose your man boobs is to do conjugate repetition squats. Lots of back squats below parallel. And fix your diet and training with the help of the stickies up top.

Eh? I would have thought that the best way to lose his moobs would be to shed the extra 100Ibs of fat he’s carrying around.

Mark Rippetoe’s program. Read the wiki, buy his book(s) and just start hitting the iron.
