Chest Supported Row - How Much Weight?

I have been using this a lot over the past few months.
I can do only 115kg , want to raise this to 140kg.

Do you guys rate the exercise? How much weight do you use?

I really like the chest supported rows because it takes the lower back, balancing, and temptation to use the momentum out of the picture. I think you really have to be careful with poundages on back movements because they allow a lot of weight to be used which helps your ego but might not be stimulating the target muscles the way the exercise should. Adding weight ( 115kg to 140kg) is great as long as you didn’t change your form by jerking the weight up or using too short of range of motion. I agree with Dorian Yates when he stated that if you can’t hold the contraction for a second or two then the weight is too heavy. Some people might get away with body english and a small range of motion, the only way you would know is to try both ways , then look at your back in the mirror.
I like DB chest supported rows with a controlled powerful positive, a pause at contraction, and then a slow negative. At the moment I use 2 80lb DBs for 12 reps , that is both hands at a time.
There is a great thread in T-Cell on the back.

I go up to 61kg(135 lbs). Not much, but anything heavier, and I feel it in my biceps. I consider it a neccesity as it helps bring out the lats and make the back “deep” so to speak

I use strap to help take the biceps out of the movement. I do the warm up sets
without straps though. I think it has added some size to my upper back.
