I don’t really know how I can ask this question, but I’ll try to make this as clear as possible. I’m a 16 year old male. I’m about 5 feet 7 inches, weighing in at about 135 pounds. I work out about 4 times a week, and eat like a T-man! Now, on to my specific question:
MY chest seems to be rounded, rather than squared off. The bottom portion of the chest is like a round ball of muscle, wear as the top isn’t so muscular. IS this normal? Does itj ust appear this way because I’m at a high body fat percentage? I’m not obese, you can see four out of six abs when flexing. I’m not sure what else to add, but please don’t blow this question off. It’s really wqorrying me. I’m worried my chest will always look like this. I don’t want it to! I want it to be flat and square! The right “look”! I dunno, i just don’t wana look like i have bitch tits.
if you don’t want to look like you have tits then lose some weight (cut out the junk food, make your own lunch for school instead of vending machines, learn to cook/prepare your own meals)… also don’t worry too much about your weight at this age… come on you are 16… save the obsessiveness for when you are 40 and losing your hair. Eat clean, workout smart and be patient.
It’s funny how kids freak out over stuff like this.
Listen, your chest shape was determined before you ever stepped in the gym, so go bitch at your parents.
If you want to make the most difference you can, concentrate on incline movemens.
two things: first, if you’re not squatting, start doing so now !!.. if you don’t know how, get someone to show you the proper form. if you are squatting, good job !!.. second, don’t worry at all about your chest, your hormones are about at their peak. my nipples were “puffy” during puberty, and i thought they’d never go away. just hang in there, so far, everyone has given you great advice to your question.
Others here covered it, but whether pecs are squared, or rounded, is totally genetic like the amount of “ab blocks”–you can have 4 up to 8 that may show (see jasongremly.com -he has eight) or your abs could be naturally flat, even at a low b.f.%. As stated before, you might need to fill in the upper portion.
yeah 135lbs and you eat like a T man, I don’t think so review so of the articles like diet manifesto and try to follow one of the mass gaining diets that you find there.
I second the incline-bench recommendation. Don’t focus much time or energy on flat benches. Work hard on inclines and it will do a good job of building your chest and preventing a droopy look. But remember, as others have said, genetics play a role in how they will look overall.
