I’ve got a beginner question about these beauties. My grandad was captain of his football (soccer muhfuckas) and basketball teams in his youth. He looked fit in pictures i’ve seen, and he advocates these things strongly.
What are they for? (i have seen and used them before) Are they primarily working scap retractors/rhomboids in a prehab kind of way? Cheers

They are for wasting time. People actually used to think they helped make the chest bigger. They aren’t really very good at much of anything except maybe working the rotator cuff. They are subpar for any back movements or rear delts even though all of those muscles would technically be activated by using one. It makes about as much sense to add them to a training program as it does those old turn of the century machines that shook you at the waist in hopes that the fat will tremble off of you.
