Cheating: How Did You Deal...

THIS!

there are always, ALWAYS two sides to each story - a person deserves to be heard out~

I think age has a lot to do with whether one would cheat again. If they were 20 at the time then they were still a child and have many years yet to grow, mature, and change for the better. Ummm - not so fast, Mr. Gabby - I believe that a person can not even consider ‘cheating’ whilst all of one’s needs are being met, and that can change once the relationship matures and the needs are moved to the side.

then a person might find his fullfullment elsewhere - and who’s to blame for that?

Hey Ruffie, you know I am a fan of yours, but in regards to your statement above, do you mind if I ask you how long you have been reformed? and, are you in a committed relationship now?

again, not trying to be a dick, just am heading towards a point, with your help and permission, that is~[/quote]

I’m married – to the the nice Jewish girl who I cheated on a year or so ago and a certain prick poster here narked on me. Civil marriage. Going through conversion. Even had a ceremonial circumcision.

But, long story short, we ran into each other; talked; had really, really good sex; restarted things; still had the ring; got her a new job by me; and got married before a judge before anyone could get into our business.

Basic emotional undercurrent was: I had been very upset about losing her, realized I had some other issues going on with bizarre risk-taking (not just women, but things like killing wild boars with a knife, driving way too fast, flying a small plane in really crappy weather; being flip about safety on a drilling rig, etc), and stopped being a selfish prick.

Basic logical undercurrent: we are a really good team, we are both unusually tall people (bigger issue than one would think), both reasonably intelligent and driven, both want kids, both love the mountains, both rock climb, both loves horses; she loves my dogs and missed them terribly; we get along really well, have the same twisted sense of humor, etc.

Oh, and I knocked her ass up about a month ago. Puked her guts out this AM while I held her hair, which, in accordance with Apache tradition, means it is a boy.

Congrats! With your genetics I know you understand your implicit responsibility to turn your son into the ultimate physical specimen.

Very, very exciting - I wish all three of you the very best.

I can agree with this. Moral growth makes as much sense as any other kind.

Ruffie, most here are behind your transition, and happy for the future family -

Native American + Jewish = interesting conflux of traditions, I do wish you the best, but if I may - do you mind if I ask you a question?

in 20 years of marriage, can you project that you will remian faithtul (sexually), and if not, what circumstances would put you over the edge?

Having been married more than 25 years, I don’t think anyone can predict what situations they might face down the road and how they might respond. Oh, it’s easy to think one has the answers at 25. But until you’ve walked the path, so to speak, it’s not so predictable.

Same here. That said, while I disagree, I kinda understand where he came from on that.

Sorry, I was going through my last replies, and accidentally replied to a post that I already replied to. Mia Culpa.
