Did 5/3/1 about 2-2.5 yrs ago. Ran it for @ 1 yr. Got bored. Started something else. Was ordered back to it.

It’s in my hometown. Know some of the local lifters (or at least their parents & grandparents). Bill Carpenter (UPA Pres) is a helluva guy and puts on a great meet.

Hell, come on down to Dubuque for your summer meet.

Never made it out of districts in HS (145 & 155#). Didn’t even think about wrestling in college, not even intramurals. Had classes with and knew several wrestlers. Got to meet Gable.

Contemplating. Driving to Michigan for the 4th, so that might eff things up a little, but might be an option.

What it turned into is something f’d up in my left side. Feels like it’s below the ribs cage but above oblique/fat handle. Did on the 1st pull of 2nd set. Warmed up ok. Form seemed right.
Felt light headed & wanted to puke as pain shot up/acreoss my side. Never felt anything like it before. Shut it down and got my butt home. Downed a handful of Ibuprofin and duct taped an ice bag to my side. Waiting for nurse wifey to get home. Dammit!

Crisis momentarily averted. Lots of ice & some vicodin seemed to do the trick. Side feels OK.

The ringleader at the gym posted a prowler challenge. 6 trips, 3 high handle, 3 low handle, 120’/40yds, 140# with a minute rest between legs. A training partner (@30, in shape, former Navy guy) got 5 of 6 legs and proceeded to paint the pavement. After 1/2 hour he did pullups and rows. He was one of the two people who we actually thought could do it. He said he wants to try it again in a week or two. He’s a sick hombre.

I may have to give it a go. I need to work on low handle pushes.

Shoulder feeling better and I’m feeling more comfortable doing OH work.

Squat

Groin tight. First two sets was apprehensive about getting into the hole. Thought screw it and made conscious effort to sit back, spread knees, head up. Got singles below depth. Weight didn’t seem heavy but enough to get my attention.
