Depending on the day 270-275#. I would make a point to be in the 275 class.

Thanks 63G. Point taken. And you are right. You are strong. I can see that with no issue…as can everyone else on the forum. You and I, and others, do tend to be harder on ourselves, or hold ourselves to a different standard, though, than say…the guy on the other side of my cubical wall. 500# is an enormous amount of weight to the average Joe (no offense JoeGood!). To those pursuing strength, though, it really isn’t. The good side of that being the drive/motivation that can be derived from it. The downside is that it can lead to frustration.
D@mnable perception… I think there is a tendency to compare ourselves to a slice of the population, as opposed to folks in general.
I remember when I 1st became a cop, our Lt. jokingly said that he was pairing with me for the football games (Athens, GA) because of my size. It struck me as odd, because I didn’t consider myself any bigger than anyone else. I compared myself only to those I considered a threat, 6’5", 300# football players. To them, I wasn’t big, or even on par. I didn’t compare myself to fellow officers, of which I was the biggest. Well, at least until we hired one of the ex-ballplayers
Talk about a gentle giant…and scared of his own shadow…lol.[/quote]
good realization.
Deload Day #3
Not really in the mood to lift. Still having issues with the right shoulder/arm, inside of right elbow and outside of left elbow…lol…I should just check into a nursing home. I think I am too far gone for assisted living.

PR on total reps in a workout…at 420 reps
Forgot to mention…my knee sleeves got here today. Just in time for Sunday’s Deadlifts. I am still considering deloading it, but am starting to go stir crazy!
My back will be the deciding factor. It has been idgy for several days, but has eased off some today. We’ll see.
Atsa lota reps! Good job.
My .02: Deload. Oh yeah SEE A DOCTOR about your shoulder.

+1 on that. You traded intensity for volume. Deload = Rest. That workout looks like a ballbuster!

+1. I’m now in love with direct cortisone injections. Go for it! it’s quick and (relatively) painless. And, if it’s not inflammation, best to catch it now before something really bad happens.
Lol…yep, not your run of the mill deload. It really felt good. Got the blood flowing. In fact, my arms were so pumped I couldn’t touch the back of my neck. Honestly, though, until my shoulder gets better, these days (chest) are not going to be heavy of the weight side (no pun intended). There was no need to just flit through it. Also, I wanted to give my shoulder a lot of reps at a weight that wasn’t painful.
Since Sunday will be 10th day since a heavy lift, I am still considering going back on…just at reasonable weights. Like starting at 80%, instead of 97%.

63G-
If it doesn’t get better on its own, I will do that. What with all my Dr. visits for the thyroid/Teatosterone/etc…, not to mention my wifes (man she has a lot of visits), I just can’t afford yet another one. It will have to wait. Hopefully it will get better on its own, though.
Awesome work LS…
that is a crazy amount of volume.
do you do dislocates- or broomstick stretch…
I have tendonitis something awful and pain in one shoulder-
lots of the scap, prehab and dislocates seem to alleviate the shoulder.
Im hoping fish oil MSM take care of the rest.

mcl- I had 2 cortisone shots for my left shoulder. They did help, for a time, but never cleared up the issue…which still lingers. That is not to say it wouldn’t help my right shoulder. 2 things are stopping me right now, 1) the money (with all the other visits) and 2) when I got the shots before he told me not to lift for a week. It is not so bad that I am willing to go through a week of withdrawl. It may come to that, though.
Thanks kmc. In fact I do employ dislocates and YTWL. They have helped overall, but seem to have little impact on this. Not sure why. My left shoulder, once warmed up, doesn’t give me much trouble. The right, however, seems impervious to warmups.
I, too, have upped my fish oil. I am running at about 5-6 caps a day.

Fish oil moved my triglycerides from 300+ to 100. Losing almost a hundred pounds only moved it down 50 pts. The fish oil is amazing stuff. Your prostate will thank you for it later in life.

I keep hearing that it is a “miracle” supp. Good for heart, vascular, joints, cholesterol, etc… I hope that to be the case. How much do you take? around 6g is what i keep seeing.
Fortunately, I have never had an issue with my cholesterol being too high. When I weighed 330, it was only 180. When I bottomed, at 220, it was 143. The bad part was that my HDL was only 34.

I take 6-12 grams a day and have for almost 3 years. My HDL went from 29 to 90 within a year and has stayed up there. In fairness, I also started mtn biking and weights in the same period.

Wow! 12g a day is a lot to down. Do you break it over 3 doses?
And, dadgummit, I already screwed up my new schedule. I should have taken Thursday off and lifted yesterday. Oh well…I will start it tomorrow.

I use the Costco (Kirkland) brand and take 6 caps in the morning and another 6 with a shake during the day if I feeling the need. And, no, I don’t get fish burps, never did. But I hear it is an issue for some.

Have you ever tried Carlson’s straight out of the bottle? It tastes great and is cost effective, relatively speaking. I order it online from vitamin shop for about 23 bucks a 17 ounce bottle (about 400 grams I think) (retails for 53 a bottle).
Never even heard of Carlson’s. I’ll check it out though, as I am about to need more.
