Charles Poliquin Diet/David Boston

Uh, you guys know this is nothing revolutionary right? Charles did not think of this is just a cylintical ketogenic diet. With some varations that others have recommended for years.

i take 5-10g of glutamine pre with powerdrive, during with creatine, and post with pwkt shake.

Ed I have been posting for over a year as Ed can you do Edward or Eddie or Ed1 or something, people are gonna start confusing your posts and mine. Thanks Ed

I have had some interaction with one of Charles’ associates and picked up some things along the way. I believe the fish suppl. that most closely resembles what charles uses is MRM NeuroDHA, with 2:1 DHA:EPA, which is opposite what most commercial supps are(I think). Also, he’s a fan(and designer) of MRM’s BCAA+G for during workout nutrition(which he has said he now thinks may be more important than post workout nutrition in some schemes.) Also, apparently when Boston showed up to Charles’ place in AZ, this summer, Charles flipped out because of his weight gain…but changed his mind when Boston went 4.2 in his sprints, really a Freak.

I was wondering what the “cousin” program of GVT 2000 might be like and was it the program you used for fat-loss?

the workout i did was an omni set cycle, where i hit each muscle group with a high number of sets and reps like GVT 2000, but from totally different angles. for example, for GVT 2000 quad day, i did 10 sets of 10 with 3 sets of front squats, 3 sets of 1.5 squats, 3 sets of back squats, and 1 set of leg press. for my omni sets, i did front squats set 1)wide stance, set 2)narrow stance, back squats set 1)wide, set 2)heels elevated, set 3)narrow, then i supersetted leg ext with narrow stance leg press.

JC#10 - have you ever tried the Meltdown routine while on this diet? Or is the GVT program better for fat-loss in your opinion?

Great thread, my interest is definitely piqued. Tell me, JC, when and where do you include fruit in your nutritional regimine? On carb-up only days? Thanks. Lata.

to be honest, i really dont eat that much fruit. if and when i do, i will eat it on a carb up day. (ill do stuff like a wheat bread/all nat pb/banana sandwich). i get so many vitamins from all the veggies and a multi-vit that i would rather avoid the sugar found in some fruits (i seem to store sugar as fat pretty easily) then, as some of those weird people do, eat for taste! I noticed you said you are still in school. My question is, how do you manage to eat all those veggies while still taking classes? Do you just cook them all at once and haul around a cooler?

Boston is going to be tops on my list of fantasy football receivers to draft, that’s for sure.

Where can one purchase these MRM supplements…or is this Poliquin’s house brand that you can only get from being a client? I totally agree on the BCAA’s/glutamine as a top-priority supplement. I like Surge, and another one that is good (oh God, here come the flames) is Profile by Pro Performance. It was designed by Dr. Jeff Stout. I love the taste of it too…just like Kool-Aid. I thought about buying some separate DHA and taking it with my Members’ Mark fish oil caps, just to improve the DHA/EPA ratios.

Contrary to popular belief, vegetables can be eaten raw (and, for most of the population, without butter, heavy cream, etc). I’ve been doing it for three years. Just through some veggies in an empty cottage cheese container, toss in some meat, cover the whole damn thing with flax and tabasco sauce, and be on your way. If it’s only for 2-3 hours, don’t worry about bringing a cooler. If it is going to be longer, you can get one of those thermal lunchbags or just keep it in a cooler in your car/dorm room and grab it in between classes. And, yes, it does help to at least cut all of them up 1-2 times a week so that you can just pack and go. Now, let’s not get off topic with this thread; we’ve got some great dialog going!

go to dpsnutrition.com to order the mrps. i use isopure and optimum 100%whey. the vitiman cottage by my house carries these huge tubs of powdered glutamine for 15 bucks, along with huge tubs of creatine for 20, so i just get it there. and of course, the Powerdrive is from my favorite company, biotest.

ProBlend 55 from Human Development is an awesome protein powder too. It’s great as a protein only shake because it’s not just whey, it’s a mixture of fast- and slow-absorbing proteins.

I must’ve misinterpreted what you wrote…I thought MRM was a particular brand but I think you meant to say MRP’s now that I read your last post to me. I order from DPS frequently and I work at GNC so I get some decent deals there. Thanks for all the great info, by the way.

I read in the AZ sports page that Poliquin gives his clients including Boston reishi mushrooms to combat cortisol and his clients also get an IV mixture as soon as they get done working out at his facility in Phoenix. The Cards running back has also joined Boston and is up about 20lbs, but the CARDS WILL ALWAYS SUCK!!!

MRM is the brand, I believe Charles has had a hand in designing some of their products, I was told BCAA+G and the DHA looks like it could be.

Thanks for the heads-up…so can MRM be bought online or is this only for Poliquin’s athletes? I looked at DPS but there was no MRM brand.

Monty, try shopping4value.com for the BCAA+G then try a google search for mrm neuro dha it will bring up plenty of sites for the fat.

I found it…thanks a bunch MK! Now my question is, is there a better choice between the MRM formula, Glutacene and the Xtreme Formulations product? The thing I like about them is they don’t have the added carbs…that’s the only drawback with the Profile formula is that it has 36 g. of dextrose (I’m only talking about for a cutting phase…I fully realize the importance of carbs for massing up).
