I just bought my first set of chains (been using bands for a while). How do you guys lug them around the gym. I have 4 runs of 5/8’s plus one set of 3/8’s guide chains. My friend has a good Army bag that he uses so I’m going to check out our Army and Navy store. Any other suggestions?
My lifting partner used to carry his in a navy duffel bag. I suggest finding a way to leave them at the gym if you can, hauling them around too much becomes a major pain in the ass. My old gym owner let us throw them in a closet. I doubt anyone else would have known what the hell to do with them.

That’s not an option. I go to a fancy schmancy NYSC. The do have lockers for rent but they’re barely big enough to hold my sneakers. I’ll look into it though. I think cost wise it’s not viable $15 a month or so.
Just checked the locker fee $140 for a year or $80 for 6 months. That’s not gonna happen.
when i used to train at a gym i just kept the chains in the back of my truck in a milk crate and just carried them in when i needed them. other than that maybe just try a rolling duffel bag or suitcase
One of the guys at my gym has what looks like a large leather bowling ball bag for his chains. However, there’s another guy that just loops them around his neck like he’s Rampage Jackson with overcompensation issues.

brilliant. im going to walk into the office like that tomorrow
That would take casual day to a whole new level.
I’m gonna strap them over my chest and back and run into the gym speaking gibberish. That shouldn’t cause too much of a scene!
I got the chains this morning. Damn they’re all oily. Time to polish them bitches up tonight!
How 'bout a milkcrate, a 3/4 inch plywood bottom to hold 4 casters?
We do that for a rollable seat (milkcrate upside-down though) for working on cars.
You can just wheel it in and out.

I actually found that this is the easiest way to carry them. The weight is evenly distributed, but you look like an idiot
I used an old DJ bag that I have. Both sets and the guide chains fit perfectly. So, I guess I’ll be practicing 100lb farms walks in the parking lot from my car to the powerrack!

I carried them in a bag yesterday, disaster. Today…I draped them over my shoulders. The ABSOLUTE easiest way to carry them. I don’t care how I look, that’s how I’m doing it from now on.
Floor presses with chains are now at the top of my list as favorite movements!!!

Chains are great. Bands really kill my shoulders on pressing movements, since I’m not powerlifting I always find chains the best way to accomodate resistance. Plus, nothing is more bad ass than the ‘clank clank’ sound they make. It’s very primal.
