Cardio Interfere With Recovery?

This is my current Mon-Wed-Fri workout:

bench:
1x warm up @ 225
8x3 @ 340 currently…increasing progressively
1x negatives @ 135
1x burnout @ 135

pull up, chin ups:
2x5 with 40lb assist, 100lb on chin ups
2x10 dips, no assist

overhead press:
3x10 @ 75lb dumbbells…increasing progressively

preacher curls:
2x8 forward grip @ 105
2x8 reverse grip @ 95

upright rows:
3x8 @ 145 using smith machine

shrugs:
3x10 @ 435 using shrug machine

deadlift:
4x5 @ 225…weak i know, but progressing

back extensions:
3x12 with 25lb weight

inclined crunches with weighted ball:
3x20

body weight: 248
bench press 1rpm: 390
shrug 1rpm: 500
overhead press 1rpm: 110lb dumbells (220lb)

so that is my workout…notice there is no cardio involved. I am thinking of doing cardio on alternate days, tues, thrus, saturday. Is this a good I idea? I was thinking 30 minutes…15 minutes of HIIT, 15 steady pace.

I was just wondering if this would interfere with my recovery? I am trying to get my weight to around 235, but dont want to sacrifice muscle recovery, or muscle loss to do it.

currently using:
Biotest creatine
Biotest Beta-7
gnc multivitamin
whey protein

Any suggestions?

Low intensity cardio helps with recovery as far as I know.

You will not go wrong on adding some cardio IMO.

actually how does this sound… On mon, wed, fri mornings i could do cardio. This might work because I usually workout in the afternoons and evenings.

So how does the cardio before breakfast work? I mean, should I eat directly afterwards…and how does this help over eating breakfast first then cardio?

btw, here is a recent photo of me at 248.

I think at this point, assuming fat loss is the priority, anything added in on non weight training days would be worthwhile.

I don’t think cardio affects lifting performance much at all - maybe at first, but once you’re used to it it’s fine. Just keep at least 4 hours between cardio and lifting, the time the better. I often times run in the morning and lift in the evening.

Cardio before breakfast probably wouldn’t do a whole lot for you right now, it’s never been proven to have any benefits regarding fat loss either. If you’re doing HIIT stuff then you want some glucose in your blood, so I’d just have whatever is a comfortable breakfast for you.

ok so I think I will start doing cardio on the mornings of the days that i lift. I will eat breakfast first too.

Pay attention to what you’re eating beforehand. A lot of guys will have a carb-free breakfast, do some cardio, and then go on with the rest of their day.

thanks for the help.

I am really trying to find a way to cut fat, but keep increasing muscle. I wouldnt say that my diet is too bad, but obviously it is not perfect.
