cardio before breakfast during bulking phase?

For all who have tried cardio before breakfast in conjunction with a diet to gain mass: What were your results–did you build lean mass, or build muscle and cut fat at the same time? How much cardio and what intensity? What calorie surplus did you use, and what supplements did you use to protect your muscles? Thanks, Brian

Cardio during a mass cycle huh? That is fine I suppose but not before breakfast. Even if your breakfast is small should be P+C, this will get you insulin going, and maybe increase you metabolism. Doing cardio before breakfast, may lead to muscle breakdown, because you have not eaten in a while.

Make a protein shake b4 retiring, if you get up in the night at all take a swig but more importantly drink about 30 grams of protein when you get up to do your cardio that will feed the bodies demands without raising insulin levels which would interfere with fat metabolism. Is the cardio to maintain aerobic condition or networking ?

can someone please explain to me what the hell is the difference between building lean mass and building muscle?

Gray, yes, the cardio is for networking. I’m going to do the cardio so I can talk to rich people on the neighboring treadmills about my screenplay:)

P-dog, as I understand it, people use the phrase “building lean mass” to mean building muscle without accruing fat at the same time. Usually, when you gain muscle, you get some fat gain as well.

i understand what your saying, but the muscle that that you build while bulking and the small amount of muscle you may build while in a maintenance or cutting phase is the same. lean muscle is lean muscle. there is no such thing as non lean muscle.
