I am confused. In FitDay, it is seen that Flax Seeds have 37 grams of carbs per 100g, of which 17 is fiber. However, guys at this site (www.buyflax.com/carbohydrates-and-flax-seed.asp) say that only 3% of carbs in Flax Seeds are digestible, which makes it 1g of net carbs per 100g of flax seeds.
Since i felt like Randy Marsh in the beginning of “More Crap” episode last time i assaulted the porcelain, i decided to add some fiber to my meals and flax seems to be very good, since it has both soluble and insoluble fibers. But i am on Anabolic Diet, you know, and can only have 30g of digestible (net) carbs per day.
So, whom to believe? Are flax seeds actually carb free?
Yeah, i don’t count fiber and i agree that is not digestible and thus provides zero cals (except for some very rare occasions). The problem is i am confused about how many grams of fiber are in 100g of flax seeds. Some say that 97% of carbs in flax are fiber, but USDA gives another info. I understand, that, in terms of diet and carbs allotment, it would be safer to count as per USDA, but i want to maximize fiber intake.
