So how long can you do carb cycling for? What happens if you start to plateau and your on low calories such as 1800 (for low carb day) and the diet is decent?
I guess I will cross that bridge when it comes for now.[/quote]
You can carb cycle year round, for bulking and for fat loss. With carb cycle you dont rely on lowering your calories that much. You start pretty high and there are other ways to stimulate the body into high gear again. You can schedule high days, cheat meals, increase cardio, increase excersice frequency, etc !

Thanks mate.
Is it normal for some weeks to not lose any weight, in fact gain 100g? (obviously water) but i have been weighing myself on the same time each week. Other weeks I have lost weight but this week I have not and its worrying me. Thats with my carbs on low days at 0.5 x bw (lbs) and using the lowest values. (having 5 low days and maybe 2 high days)
You dont have to worry you just have to adjust ! Just by doing any of the things I mentioned before, you either increase you calorie expediture or you lower your calories, me ? I rather increase my activity level and eat more ! hahaha
I think that when we talk about carb cycling we are talking about insulin manipulation, If you say that insulin does sensitivity does not play a role while losing fat then you are saying that if I were to consume 2,500 cals daily and I burn 3,000 my body composition will improve as my weight goes down no matter the macro split ?

Your fat mass will decrease, yes. If you’re training you’ll likely hold onto most of your muscle. Lifting heavy weight is much more important than food when you’re in a caloric deficit. Protein is the most essential macronutrient for sparing LBM and I mentioned 1g/lb figure in the previous post.
I dare you to try it and actually enjoy yummy food when dieting.
I dont want to start a war but you ask questions then you dont want answers or advise.
And you say you´ve done a few carbcycling diets and yet you say is complicated, that doesnt make sense to me.

I didn’t say I don’t want answers, I said I wasn’t looking for advice. AND I never said carb cycling was complicated AND just because someone does something doesn’t mean it’s can’t be complicated.

Ok I agree with you in terms of training being important ! But a training program will never produce better results than a smart training program. We both believe in hard work combined with a sensible diet we just think about it differently, we both have our opinions thats fine hehe. I didnt come here to create conflict just sharing my resuts and what im doing to get them.
I have included cheat meals during a high carb day but nothing very extreme, and it jumpstarts my metabolsim just fine. (Thats my case hehe)
How does setup look? I calculated the macros from a article I read from Shelby Starnes posted in April of 2009:
High: 630g carbs, 210g protein, Little fat as possible
Moderate: 310g carbs, 260g protein, 30g fat
Low: 100g carb, 310g protein, 60g fat
I was going to have a high day on my toughest weight lifting day, 2 moderate days, and 3 low days for days i don’t workout or for a weight lifting session that isn’t as taxing. My body fat is at 19% and I’m hoping that this will successful. Any feedback is appreciated.
The higher you bf the lower you have to go on carbs, so if it says from 2-3 grams of carbs on your high… then you would go for 400gr. Moderate something like 200gr (1 x bw), low would fall around 100 grams as you can see, keep protein high so pick 1.5gr x bw and take it to 1 x bw on high days. Evaluate form there, keep in mind that you may see an initial 3-5 pound weight loss during the first week (mostly water). Monitor your results !
TEKEN - how often do you take progress pics? I am using the lowest values Shelby reccomends, with 2 high days and doing cardio about 3 x a week with weight sessions about 3 x a week and seem to have put on 1kg or 2.2lb this week according to scales
I don’t know what is happening! its not very motivating lol…
