I have to give OP credit. I would’ve folded long ago had i been dogpiled this badly. Whether by arrogance or relentless fortitude, this dude has been proven wrong on almost every count and still insists he’s right.
OP’s willpower ratings are off the chart!
Now for that progress pic we’ve all been asking for…
You’re simplifying it down to these two things though which I agreed are part of the equation. But they are only pieces of it, with the hard work and discipline having equal shares along with knowing your body. Unless of course you serious think or imply the top competitors eat fast food, do a three day bro split, and then step on stage due to their “steroids and genetics”.
I once had a friend in the 90ties, who used his car to spin upon things, just for the fun of it. He put the object in question under a wheel, and then did what some rally drivers do for effect. Once he spinned on the MC Hammer CD, another time on a living white mouse who the owner had got tired of. You have to remember this was pre-vegan and before animal rights had became the right thing to do.
Thing is, I feel like putting this thread under the wheels.
Dude, this WHOLE THREAD makes no sense. Like I’m happy to debate or even have an educated conversation about the topic, but you haven’t educated anyone on anything here.
This entire thread serves up a shitload of knowledge - but none of it was introduced by you.
The thing is, I don’t dislike Darden. I dislike the people that propagate the dogmatic ways of training, and people who sit on the sidelines saying “the [insert NFL coach here] should have called [insert whatever play here] play instead”. It reeks of arrogance.
There is more than one way to build muscle, dude.
What is not educational about realizing that the body’s muscles thrive from carbohydrates and bodybuilders could have built bigger and fuller muscles by consuming a greater proportion of their diet in carbohydrates? What’s not educational about realizing that Arnold could have been even bigger from a few changes in his diet and Zane could have been a lot bigger? Lord knows Zane had a lot of room to grow in size.
This is exactly the type of dogmatic shit I’m talking about.
Since you have such a wealth of knowledge about everything bodybuilding - can you look over my training/diet log and give me some pointers?
EDIT:
If you’d have paid attention, you would realize I don’t hate carbs, and I don’t stand up for Keto. I think Keto is a cult (because of it’s dogma the irony) and it is scientifically proven that having carbs in the diet is better for muscle growth.
Truly, the problem I have is with uncertified fools like yourself think you have the experience and prowess to critique a 3x Mr. Olympia whilst being TOTALLY unwilling to share a progress picture of yourself. Did Zane have great genetics? Yes. Did he know what he needed to fuel his body with for the best performance? Also yes. Do YOU know what his body needed to squeeze out another O title? No.
Give it another few years and they will be talking about how dangerous it is to go without carbs OR the Keto diet that is so popular now will fade away as the Zone Diet did, the Atkins diet did, etc.
