Ok guys, I’m just curious on this one. What are your thoughts about Dr Dipisquale and Dr Serrano’s views of not consuming carbs post workout, but rather Amino acids. I know there is alot of conflicting Data but it is confusing when 3 respectected people (JMB , Serrano and Dipisquale) have such drastically differet thoughts. I’m very curious in learning about this for Dieting purposes. Lets hear some thoughts, thanks Mike
I’m putting this to the test myself. I have a supply of surge and a supply of Glutacene so For 3 weeks I’m going to consume nothing but 2 scoops of surge post workout and then for the next 3 weeks I’m going to follow the recommendations for glutacene and eliminate the surge…I’ll let the board know how my little experiement goes.
Kelly, real cool. I’m thinking taht the glutacene is like surge minus carbs. I know Serrano reccomends Glutacene and Nitromine. I don’t know if I could afford these but. I need something on this low carb diet I’m sooo sore. The Designer isn’t cutting it. I miss the Surge. The other option interests me too though and if helps keep me lean with great recovery. I’m up for it . Anyone else…? Thanks, Mike
Just a note, I think Berardi is going to address this issue in detail in his next column. Personally I can tell you that I’ve use Surge after training while dieting and the fat came off with no problem, recovery was awesome and I never had that “flat”, drained feeling while training. And I’m pretty carb sensitive and use a reduced carb diet to drop fat. But Surge did not hamper fat loss at all and made the whole dieting process more pleasant.
Go ahead and skip proper post-workout nutrition while dieting, but you’ll feel like crap and your workouts will suffer. I’ll let JB handle the technical stuff on this topic, but basically, Serrano is wrong.
Oh, and I recently found out that some of the people that are talking up this Glutacene stuff on various boards just so happen to sell it. (I’m not referring to Kelly above, in fact, I think he’s doing a very cool thing.) Nothing wrong with that if they really believe in it, but the fishy smell gets strong when these folks spam our forum in that manner.

I definitely hear you on that one Chris. When I get the money, I'm planning on doing the same thing as Kelly. I have a few questions for you and I was wondering if you could hook me upwith your e-mail address so I can ask you a few questions. Thanks alot Mike
you are technically supposed have nitromine after workout in addition to the glutacene before, but thats way too much $$$ in my book. also i would opt for universal nutritions BCAA stack. its about %20 cheaper than glutacene, tastes good, and has the same ratios as best i know. For, me though, i am not sure yet if it does anything great… i will listen to your guy’s results.
i’m using 10 grams of bcaa while i workout along with some hydrolywed whey protein and whey protein isolate to prevent muscle breakdown. i figure it wont hurt my post workout nutrition since this stuff will just get into my system faster combined with the added post workout drink of hydro whey/casein and BCAA with glutamine peptides. Damn BCAA are expensive at $.70 a 10 gram serving. Training is expensive but better then spending your money on alcohol and narcotics. laters pk
