Can't Train, Now What?

lol at you guys seeing his picture and thinking he is some kind of slacker, injured or no.

seriously dude.

You can’t think of anything else to do outside lifting? Then maybe this injury is good after all. You’ll find what to do with your life.
I’m a physical person, work requires me being able to lift things, I play sports, gym…generally between work, uni(which has slowed down), gym, eating, fapping. there isn’t enough time in the day.

and yes porn site recommendations would be handy. pun intended.

watch MaCgruber you will not be disappointed

lol

cucumbertube.com has just about everything.

Are you American? If you’ve never watched “the wire” it’s amazing. (non-Americans might like it, but it’s about life in an American city…so…yeah).

OH, and if you haven’t read “A Game of Thrones,” run out and pick it up. I could barely put it down when by brother gave it to me.

I like californication as well

That’s a pretty lame excuse. You can’t tell me Hammer Strength machines require a lot of input from the legs. Bottom line: you can easily find a way to train around this, and I would wager most people posting in this thread have experienced your situation in some form. For me it was a herniated disc, which meant no squatting or deadlifting for several months…but I sure as hell found a way to do something.

Also, keep in mind that your PT is likely treating you as if you are an average schlub, since that’s where those long recovery estimates come from.
very true, thats why I’m hoping when I see him he says I can go back, he knows I’m a body builder and he was one himself(that’s why I’m seeing him).

I’m not expecting to be out of the gym longer than a week or two but going from lifting 7 times a week to 0 is a pretty big shift. I don’t like taking time off.
If it’s only a week or two then I can see where you are coming from. In that case:

The Making of the Atomic Bomb

That book will chew up a lot of free time, and it’s excellent.

I probably should have said that in my first post, but if it’s longer than 2 weeks I’m getting a new physio

Holy Fuck,I would have love to be in your position when the tendons on my wrist tore. I couldnt even load any weights to squat so I could do any effective leg works.

How about some seated alt DB curls and laterals you pussy. You’re arms are looking small.

to those that care - I got back in the gym today, physio said I’m not allowed to push with my left leg but am able to use machines(I’m not allowed to carry over 3kg(around 7lbs) but not hammerstrength(have too carry plates but will be having a plates bitch the next two days). Using the chest press with a machine stack for the first time was interesting(shit) but doing a lot of pec deck made it a decent workout.

also got a diagnosis tore my medial ligament, it’s between a type 1-type 2 tear but the physio is happy with my progress so far, said it’ll be around 6 weeks before I’m squatting again.

You should feel lucky. I haven’t lifted in a year and a half. You learn to adapt. Reading is my friend. Good luck back at the gym though.

In lieu of “manning up”, I’d suggest reading Game of Thrones and the other books in the series. Also watch the series on HBO if you have it.

Have you seen the Sopranos? Easily some of the best television ever made.

Download, rent or buy seasons 1-5.

I’m watching it again for the first time since it ended in 2007 and I can’t get enough of it.
