Can't Eat Meat. What Now?

Hahaha this is awesome.

Isn’t there a thread on here where someone posted research about animals hormones having no effect on humans what so ever?

Do this hormones hang around in the meat… then are still there when cooked? and digested in your ph2 stomach acid?

Wow… body builders should just be drinking their test instead of turning their asses into pin cushions.

Go to 2 more doctors and see what they say. Only time I ever to go my local doctor is when I need some medicine for a fever or cold, even then I hate going.
Is the acne problem that bad? I know some people break out when they eat fat fried foods or drink milk, but haven’t heard much about red meat causing it. I’ve broken out when I don’t drink enough water. Try to drink more water.
Being a teenager comes with having acne, sometimes you just have to live with it. My dad as old as he is, still has some pimples on his back.

I’m 16. I used to have crap tons of pimples that are now crap tons of acne scars. I still eat meat because a) I figure the added attractiveness from having strength/muscle would outweigh my acne scars and b) I learned the hard way that attempts to get rid of acne are all massive wastes of time, money, and patience.

Just a head’s up…but I wouldn’t believe 99% of the stuff people say their doc told them.

LOL @ red meat causes acne.
It’s not only red meat, other meats as well. And it’s not the meat that causes it, it’s the growth hormones in the animals, needed to clarify this in case everyone starts misquoting me as saying it’s red meat that’s the cause. But thanks anyway for your opinion, really appreciate it
…OK…so growth hormones in the meat are causing your acne?

Boy, those hormones should be doing a hell of a lot more than that.

Any gigantism?

Acromegaly?

Huge muscular weight gains?
Look I don’t know man. Supposedly the testosterone makes me produce my oil or some shit like that. I’ve been having decent progress when I eat like crazy.

I’m 16 too. Believe it or not, I’ve been through the same dilemma: Clear my face or try to build as much muscle mass as I can
Most of it are scars, they’re smooth when I touch them but they’re really red, I do have some pimples with pus as well, those really suck.

It looks pretty bad to me but the doc says she’s seen much worse. I get in about 4 liters of water a day. I don’t eat much fried foods. I try to eat clean most of the time. Except for the weekly pancake and maple syrup fest that I have as a cheat meal. Thanks for your reply, appreciate it

Is this sarcasm? I suck at detecting sarcasm, honest.

I didn’t even know what to say, I mean SUNSHINE and MEAT? WTF are doctors talking about.
Sunshine causing skin problems? That wasn’t acne, it was sparkles.

Your cousin is a vampire.

Be careful.
Haha!! But jokes aside, I thought getting out in the sun gets your skin vitamin E, giving it a better refreshed look? Or am I wrong again? I read somewhere that too much sunshine aggravates acne though, not sure if that’s true either.

There are good threads on acne in this forum. Check them out, use the search bar.
I don’t eat the meats for the growth hormones in it! If I had the finances I would buy organic and free range. Thanks for the advice, I’ll check those threads out later when school’s over

ok, well I’ll bite.

I’m 30 and still get pimples, fml. I used to get BAD cystic acne along/under my jawline while I was taking any protein powder derived from milk. any type of whey or casein powder gave me horrible acne. in the six months since I’ve switched to beef protein, I’ve noticed significant improvement in acne developing there. I still get it on my temples and cheeks, but it’s not near as bad as it used to be, and I have very oily skin besides.

Well that’s good. BECAUSE YOU CANT.

Jesus. I know youre 16, but read the words that are on the page. You cannot eat hormones.

And for the other 16 year old with acne. Clearing acne and building muscle are not mutually exclusive options. Do both. Eating meat is NOT causing acne, unless you are in some way allergic to the meat.

The two of you are 16. 16 year olds get acne. Yes it sucks, and if it’s that bad you should use a dermatologists help to fix it but to think you completely avoid getting a few pimples as a teenager is crazy.

this thread HAS to go in the hall of fame

I think Lolwtflol covers it pretty nicely.

I had acne a few years ago on my back, just thought it was training , testosterone etc.

I greatly cut my gluten and dairy intake and ramped up omega 3.

BOOM

Pretty much all gone.

It could have also been you weren’t keeping your back clean.

Wild leaps to conclusions is apparently what passes for “science” today.

Try cutting out gluten and dairy. Much more likly to be the causes of an acne problem.

maybe some blood letting will help…

You can’t eat hormones. Why do you think they need to be injected?
You have acne because you’re 16. Give it a few years. Grow some muscle in the mean time.

Sunshine gets rid of my acne.
Trimetoprim gets rid of my acne
Changing my bed sheets once a week helps
Showering twice a day helps
Washing affected areas with 5% benzoyl peroxide helps
Shaving too often/seldom can aggravate it
