Candito's Program, Meet in 3 Months. Need Help

Age: 16
Weight: 58kg
Squat: 115kg
Bench: 72.5kg
Deadlift: 135kg

I am about to start doing Candito’s training program. Do you guys think it is a good idea if i use ~90% of those maxes as the programs’s 1RM?

~90% of 1RM input for Candito’s program
Squat: 105kg
Bench: 70kg
Deadlift: 125kg

Meet Goals for August(~3months later)
Squat: 140kg
Bench: 80kg
Deadlift: 160kg

Do you guys think it will be possible to reach my goals in 3months? With these stats , should i even be doing Candito? Thank you in advance

Is this the Candito program where you test your maxes after 6 weeks? I don’t advise testing your maxes outside of 3rd attempts at a meet. This is also a program that uses AMRAP sets, correct?

At your level it should be easy to make progress, I wouldn’t even set specific goals because it’s possible that you could do better than that. Make sure you eat enough, gaining muscle is the fastest way to get stronger. Just don’t get too fat.

I tested my max before deciding to start this program. This program doesnt use AMRAP, instead it uses a “MR10”(10 max reps) followed by 5x3 of the same weight. Im just wondering whether working with just 90% of my 1RM with this program would help me progress well

Many programs actually make you start conservatively off your 1RM base, but given the right progression you will regulate to your true RM (and beyond!) over time. In my view this is beneficial to get all the supporting muscles and tendons used to the weekly load over time. The workouts might feel “light” in the first 3-4 weeks, but this also helps to control DOMS and therefore improve your recovery and helps you to stay on schedule. But then again I am 20 years older and sustained some recent injuries, so I might be overly cautious on these points.

Do what the program says, if that doesn’t work then it is not a good program for you. The problem with following one of the many programs floating around on the internet is that it is not made for you, what works for one person may not work for another.

I’ve run Candito’s 6 week program repeatedly throughout last year. The program specifies that you input your 1rm for loading calculations.
