hey guys, quick question. I live in Canada and am looking to buy some good quality protein powder. Since i live in Canada Biotest is not in my budget (unfortionetly). So if you guys could suggest some good brands for me that would be great. Thanks.
FM, with protein supps, like everything else you get what you pay for. With inexpensive stuff you will have to use more to get the same effect, so you inavriably end up spending more $ in the long run. Biotest is not that expensive up here($50 at snd.canada.com). I have not tried all protein powders, but IMHO the only other one worth using is Dorian Yates.
I like Interactive Nutrition’s protein!
Ever tried ISS Whey Power? I really like this stuff, it’s a blend of intact whey (concentrate and islolate) and whey peptides. From what I know a blend of intact and peptides is the way to go. Also the ratio of protein grams to grams of bulk powder is super high: 18g protein in a 22g scoop. I’ve seen very few other proteins with a ratio this high. A lot of the time I see things like 22g protein in a 32g scoop or something like that. No aspertame, virtualy no carbs (I think like 1g ?) ,tastes amazing and a good price $40 can/kg. I wish I could use Grow but alas the only place that carries it where I live is GNC and that place is a major rip off! I’ve heard from a knowledgable guy that the Dorian Yates stuff is awesome! I can’t say it’s a fact but according to him they extract their whey directly from milk as opposed to the liquid whey bi-product of cheese making which is where most whey comes from (cheese making involves heating and processing to some extent, which might effect the properties of the whey). I’m gonna try the Dorian Yates brand for sure.
I’ve been buying up 5lb tubs of Opti-RX by Optimum nutrition. It has Whey and Casien and malto’s - it makes an exellent MRP. I’m buying them up because at my store they are 42$(including gst) for a 5lb tub.
I think Optimum makes great tasting protien
