Can You Eat Crappy Food Anymore?

Anyone here have trouble eating non-decent food? In my case I’ve always ate pretty good, and never ate anything with HCFS in it, no soda, etc. But the thing is since I’ve REALLY ratcheted down on my diet and upped the veggies, fruits, and nuts and gone with a lot of organic food, and grain-fed beef, I’ve been unable to stomach most restaurant food. Most restaurant food comes flying out the rear of me about an hour after I eat it now, and if I try eating like a few M&M’s or something, I feel like shit after. I actually feel like shit if I eat ANY processed food now, or non-organics. Is this my body basically rejecting shit food completely now?

I tear chocolate chips cookies up once a week lately, and it’s just fine, if I stopped at 3.

But 10 of them with 2 c of milk puts a hurtin on my stomach for an hour

It may all be in your head. lol

Haha. This is funny to me for some reason (sorry, it is unfortunate, although seemingly psychosomatic IMO - no offense). I imagine M&Ms flying out your rear like candy colored bb’s… haha You may also have an infection somewhere in your digestive tract, or perhaps it’s a food intollerance issue that you’ve corrected (by abstaining, intentionally or otherwise, from something like gluten) with your improved diet. Who knows. Good luck with feeling better.

@JF, fwiw (for what it’s worth) I’ve always had problems with lactose if and only if I also went overboard on sugar at the same time. I can drink a glass of milk no problem (at least with respect to lactose digestion), but a milkshake of relatively the same size which basically has added sugar and fat, and wham-O, gut ache.

Also, I pretty much lay off milk and wheat altogether now, and I feel better and don’t feel deprived. My energy and immune system seem to be working much better, although I’ve replaced those crappy calories with good ones (veggies and protein) so that could also very well be the reason for that. I’ve yet to get tested for gluten or casein allergies though, but if something is working why change…?

I’ve found that the cravings for “crappy food” have decreased significantly since tightening up the diet. However, I don’t really feel sick after having a meal full of food that’s bad for you. I’ll feel a bit tired afterwards, but no stomach troubles.

youre not alone, when i ate proper i had the same issue, sometimes after fast food my asshole would implode while on the toilet a few hours later but then again thats just more motivation to keep your diet clean

My cheat foods used to be hamburgers and cakes, as well as every sort of pastry under the sun.

Today was a carb refeed, I had an asian chicken wrap and another beef wrap. The pork bun I had (at a mom-n-pop type of store, so pretty good quality) was pushing it. I felt sick when I saw a slice of pizza.

I still have ‘crappy food’, but it is eons healthier than what most people eat.

I follow the 90% rule, so I’m eating perfect 90% of the time, Lots of beef, eggs, chicken, fish, protein powder, brown rice, oatmeal, plenty of vegies, fish oil, mac. nut oil etc. But when I cheat I GO BIG. 2 double quarter pounders with extra cheese and fries with a diet pop. And I feel GREAT. :stuck_out_tongue:

OP it may be all in your head. But its kind of a good thing that you can’t handle the crap food. It makes you stick to your diet

If I lived in Texas this is where I would go for my cheatmeals

I had a pound of chocolate chip cookies the other day after a month of being pretty strict. Honestly thought i was going to barf halfway through, but i stuck in there and finished all of it. I have found it to be a nice way to deal with cravings: Kick your own ass with a fullbody session (or legs) and go to town on the thing you crave. Most of the calories will hopefully go to your muscles and if you have done it correctly, you will resent the food for quite a while.

I have this problem as well, although I’ve learned to cope with it. It helps me eat clean almost 100% of the time. The ‘dirtiest’ I eat now is yams and sweet potatoes (paleo diet). My body just feels sickly after eating candy bars, and other junk food like that. I feel as if this is for the best, as it certainly makes me feel good eating all this clean food.

to the OP yes your bobdy is rejecting that shitty food now, if you ever do want to ever eat that kind of food again and not drop bombs in the toliet then to have to slowly re intreduce that food back into your diet, once you have that master then once or twice a week have that shitty food only for a meal though, not through out the whole day

To bad that’s in Arizona.

not really. the dirtiest thing i eat would be my weekly ice cream with a fresh fruit, waffle n fudge.

I still eat junk foods like burgers, ice cream, and pizza on occasion. However, I cannot for the life of me stomach anything heavily processed/preserved anymore. Chips, boxed cookies, cakes, etc… Not only does it make me feel like crap, but all in all, doesn’t even taste that good anymore.

I have been eating clean for 8 months now. Whenever I go home for some holiday and eat crappy for a few weeks I start shitting 4 times a day. Was just on spring break a few weeks ago, the girls in our group were cooking for us. I went from low-carb, lean meats, eggs, nuts, and veggies to pancakes, waffles, sandwiches, and pizza. I spent half of spring break on the toilet. Your body just gets used to healthy eating (I think a lot of it is increased fiber intake).

Some junk food does me some damage. I had 5 slices of pizza the other day, and faucet ass ensued. Mexican food, at least fajitas and stuff I like, I can tolerate pretty well. Ive lost almost all desire to have sweets, so I dont know how my body would tolerate that at this point. So I guess I can sympathize with you somewhat. If nothing else I have a mental thing where eating poorly makes me feel bad mentally if not physically.

I shat my brains out just yesterday after going to town on the Wendy’s dollar menu.

Probably has more to do with the fat content of the meal than my body saying, “oh snap, ‘dirty’ foodz!”, but it’s nice to know my GI tract will keep me in check even when I don’t wanna be.

I can’t drink soda or eat cake, both are way too sweet for me now.

XL pizza/Cheeseburgers? Oh god yea

My Dad’s co-workers used to go there for lunch every so often and order the double bypass burger, they said it was the best burger they had ever had.
