Is my theory correct? I have had trouble switching my bench press to a different pressing movement.
For example if I switch to the incline bench press I would start to train my shoulders and my chest will not be as involved as much as it was with the flat bench.
So if I train incline bench press or even decline bench press for three weeks and go back to flat bench press wouldn’t my flat bench press numbers go down since I could have possibly lost neural strength or atrophied(loss muscle) some chest muscle due to the fact I didn’t stress the chest muscles as much from switching for three weeks.
It’s neural - not muscular. If you don’t practice something, you won’t improve at it.
