Can I Eat Eggs Raw?

I find scrambled eggs is the best way to get in a lot of eggs for myself, I can go threw a dozen and it would feel like nothing. Hard boiled eggs seem to fill me up faster for some reason.

Oh my God… This is why I stopped posting on all but non training threads.

how is it that all foods in nature are best for you raw and unadulterated… all but eggs.

I haven’t tried raw meat, but I don’t know about you guys but I get urges to rip a big chunk out of my steak before I start cooking it and gnawing it down. I really don’t know why either.

Its only a matter of time before I give in though.

i have done that

that was the day I chose to stop burning my meat and leave it rare-ish

I love sushi(raw fish) rare beef(toatsed outside bloody inside) I drink my eggs in a shake made with milk and blueberries mmmmmm

I also eat vegis raw when I am too tired to cook I snatch em out the crisper and munch

Sure but then you need to drink 12 raw eggs to get the benefit of 6 cooked eggs.[/quote]

How can this be proven? I really am curious.

I have two raw eggs in my shake EVERY morning for about 6 years now. I’m still standing, and have never been sick. Salma-what?

rich people get e-coli and salmonillia(sp)
poor people like me get the runs
only thing about the eggs is the texture I dont like the way they are raw so I mix them up

I used to as a kid when my mom made french toast she used eggs and milk mixed together and when she was done I would drink it.
she asked the doc if it would hurt me and he said no if he wants to drink that nasty stuff lett him.

My point was that you should eat them the way you like them and not be afraid of some dubious absorption rates. Just eat your eggs dammit!

Raw eggs tonight= puke fest 08

I have been putting 2 to 4 in my shake every morning… (Grow! whey in the am)

If you mix raw eggs with the chocolate Metabolic Drive and a tiny bit of milk, it is the creamiest shake ever ! add some ice and you have a Bad ass tasting milk shake of death. I usually have this before bed since I hate cottage cheese…

get those eggs into ya anyway you can

In the words of a wise ninja: “You can if you think you can”.
Seriously though, why not? I heard that IF there is salmonella it is on the outside of the egg shell. If you are really worried wash them with soap and water before you crack them.

P.S Not sure if this is true or not with all the false internet mumbo jumbo floating around and what not.

Generally okay in my book, but don’t leave those raw eggs sitting around too long, consume them quickly if you’re going to.

Raw eggs= crazy breeding ground for micro-organisms

Well, if 51% bio-availibility is true, then it would take only half the amount of cooked eggs to equal uncooked eggs.

So, you’re right, it may be more like 6 cooked eggs equals 11.089823743223 raw eggs.

I couldn’t stomach eating a raw egg, gross!
Like another poster though, 3 eggs will usually fill me up and even at that point I’m tired of eating eggs. I wish I could stomach eating greater quantities :frowning:

Used to drink/gulp 8 after each workout untill i realised protein shakes werent steriods… :stuck_out_tongue:

ive heard that even if the egg hass salmonella in it, cooking it wont kill the bug???

a bad egg raw is a bad egg cooked?

thought the same was true with meat aswell…?

Could someone please post a study or website where this cooked eggs vs raw eggs theory is stated. I have never heard this but would like to read up on it.

Raw eggs and Raw meat have been used by several bodybuilders for decades. Tanny comes to mind. Muscle Smoke and Mirrors by Randy Roach talks about this.

Be more concerned with the source of the food then how you cook it.

For the poster who had stomach problems with eating raw eggs. The cholestoral in raw eggs binds to impurities in the body and helps you shit them out. Some people detox so hard that eggs have to be taken out of the diet completely because it is so discomforting. Make no mistake though this detox is beneficial to your health.

Also mixing animal fat with vegetable fat can turn some peoples stomachs. If I have any raw eggs and eat some peanut butter or olive oil i know in a hurry.

1 minute on google should turn up the info you want

Absorbing 51% of raw eggs is like wasting half the dozen.

I’d rather boil them and blender them in a shake. Or make a concentrated reserve with 12 blended boiled eggs in 1 liter of milk spreaded over 3-5 days.

I don’t believe this.

If I need 3000 calories to maintain my weight, your saying I can east 6000 calories of raw eggs a day and not gain? I don’t believe the can’t be absorbed stuff.

it’s the protein that isn’t fully absorbed.
