The “Firebreather” is cool. Now, I have to admit that of the current crop of ‘retro’ muscle available, I think the Mustang offers the best overall package, but I’m a Pontiac (RIP) guy at heart.
GTO is the iconic musclecar and my first project car was a '77 Firebird Formula (I wish I still had it). 77-78 Firebirds/Trans-Am’s had the ‘cat eye’ front which is where the “Firebreather” takes its styling cues. That’s a sweet car, and if that were available in mass production (ie. if Pontiac was still alive), I would definitely be saving for one (especially if the muscle were available that the prototype offers).

I actually see more BMW’s and Mercedes around town than anything else. I also see a lot of (circa 90’s early 00’s) Mustangs but not too many newer models. I see very few 2010’s and of course no 2011’s right now.
If it comes down to look, I think the above car is more “me” than anything else.
I don’t really want what everyone else gets.
I understand about not following the crowd, however the fiscal side of me will never go with an american sports car. My wife has BMW X5 and this is her second BMW, nothing beats there service plan and quality of car. I have had some Doc friends in the past swear by the Porche as the best “driving” experience for a car. Also BMW has an onstar type package.
The Porsche is like twice the price of both the new camaro and the mustang…and it really comes down to style. I don’t see too many BMW’s that make me want the car based on looks.
I do hear what you say about foreign cars and you may be right.
Do guys with Mustangs have a lot of problems with their cars?
Panties will melt. Do you plan on paying it off and keeping for ever? Who has a better quality product?
That looks cool. What model is that?
yeah, any car I get next I would like to hold onto and modify long term…which is why I want this next one to be the right decision…and also why I haven’t been looking at used.
Z4 2011 BMW roadster or you could go with the new Mercedes sls.
My 9 year old has a big SLS poster on his wall. Bad ass.
Prof X the new CTS-V coupe is more money but outrageously fast, has OnStar and it’s interior has an auto-panty removal option unlike the Camaro / Mustang. Steely is right, girls could give a shit about either one of them.
The standard CTS is probably a more sensible choice. You give up about 250hp (still get 300) but save yourself 20k, better running economy, lower insurance etc. But you get OnStar and women without panties.

A friend of mine has one of those cars. He wanted to show me the kind of balls it had… Brought me on the highway started going around 60-70, pushed the pedal to the floor, and the damn thing still lost traction and tires peeled out and squealed. I can only imagine… As I am stuck squealing out of first and second in my scion TC ![]()
EDIT: Prof. X. I’ve heard VERY bad reviews about the interiors of these cars (camaro / challenger) being the exact opposite of spacious. The mustang would fit you better, and I doubt the difference in speed would even be noticable. You’ve always wanted the mustang, don’t let OnStar be the deciding factor.

NICE!
the new camaro and challanger would both look better with flared out fenders and really wide tires like the old 60’s and 70’s road racer cars had.
That 2011 Shelby looks so G!!

?
Your idea of a “chic car” is way different than mine.
A Honda Civic is a chic car. I don’t think a car that can hit 60mph in less than 5 seconds qualifies as such.

Standard of course being a VW Jetta.
The bat mobile beats them all
Rims?
What kind of rims do you guys like?
I’ve always been a fan of black rims. You don’t see nearly as many as you see silver rims, and I’m not a fan of chrome, though a little for detail can be nice.
