I think all these cars look “cheap”. I don’t know what it is, especially the interiors. With the state of the economy right now you should take advantage of getting a great deal on something nice. Get yourself a g37. I have a 2002 g35, and it’s been awesome. Get looks all the time, and it’s very affordable in terms of maintenance.

in all seriousness, I dont think you can go wrong with the camaro or Mustang
I own a 1999 camaro I bought new and have put 185k miles on it with no real issues beyond stuff that fails after 11 years regardless of make / model.
That said,
X, have you considered a used Lotus Elise? They are sweet, def panty droppers, the same price as a new camaro / mustang, and lets face it, way cooler…
Just saying, but either way as long as you like it, you wont regret the expense.

That car starts at 36,000 dollars. How is an infinity better made than a Ford?
It doesn’t look any “less cheap” than the rest of the cars mentioned in this thread to me.
What’s wrong with a late model Vette?

Corvette
If you’re not looking for practical, why not something fun like a Lotus or Caterham 7? If I lived in TX, I’d drive a Seven all year round.
While the CTS-V is an awesome vehicle, the only panties you’ll be dropping is granny panties.

Sit in a G37, and drive it one block and tell me it doesn’t blow a mustang out of the water ![]()
These cars remind me of (some) new houses. Sure they look nice now, they’re new. But how’s it going to look in 7 or 8 years? Probably run down and shitty.

Besides the price? I like Corvettes in general but the reason these two cars were paired together is they cost almost exactly the same. I am not trying to pay 40K for a car.
Plenty of lulz to be had in this thread.
The man said he’s looking for a car to impress the ladies that won’t break the bank (aka more than $35k) Who cares who’s the fastest in the 1/4 mile? He’s not taking it to the track on a weekly basis.
Anyway, X are you dead set on getting a 2011 car? If not I’d look into the the 03-04 Mustang Cobras since you like Fords.
Keep in mind that if you don’t like the stock handling on a car you can always throw an aftermarket suspension on it. The cost varies but you should be able to find a good street set up for less than 3k.
Also you could trying going to various Camero and Mustang meets to see if the enthusiasts will give you a ride in their cars. Most love to boast about their rides so you’ll learn all kinds of ways to customize your future ride even if they turn ya down.
I’m personally saving up to get a 2SS Camero but I can respect all the 2011 Rustang love.
Just want to note that GM has already paid back their bailout from the govt.
lol

It may be a bit pricey, but it’s lovely. I’d break the bank for a GT-R[/quote]
The GTR premium STARTS at more than 84K. That isn’t “a bit pricey”. That is fucking insane unless you have heart surgeon or Jay-Z money.

BAH! Just take a second mortgage on your house.
Didn’t anyone watch the Motor Trend video on Page 3? Pony v BMW M3?
That’s a MAJOR step up for this generation of Mustang. It’s all growed up. Seriously- to come so close in terms of handling (cornering) to an iconic performing M3 at a much lower price tag is a serious win for Ford.
This is a car with serious HP, classic American torque, and it corners well. Remember-- this is factory setup. A couple grand more and you can tweak the hell out of it and still come out ahead of the M3.
Sounds like an incredible package for a daily driver.
They’re learning.
370Z all the way. Nissans V6 owns Fords V6. If nissan wanted to make a V8 it would own Fords V8. Hell they dont even have to make a V8 to own ford and chevys v8. See the Nissan GTR
American car companies are crap and they have been crap for 30 years now. Then when they go bankrupt because of unions and making a sh1tty product for so long, they need the government and the people to bail their asses out.
I wont be supporting them and will continue to support car makers that make a better product because they want to make a better product and they want to have a successful business. Not because they have to make a better product or else the company fails because every one started to catch on that american made vehicles were sh!t.

The Z28 might be a game changer, it’s coming out in 2012.

Why are we discussing every car in the world BUT the ones I made the thread about?
I really didn’t make this thread so everyone could mention a different car that they like the best.
"1. How are you going to compare a 80k (base) car to a 30k (base) car?
2. Every company’s #1 goal is to make money, this is the real world not candy land.
3. How exactly are you supporting these other car makers? Do you buy a new car every year? If not then you’re not really supporting the companies, you’re just a another fan boi/gurl. "
Re-read what i said, i was comparing a 370Z V6 2011 (35K) to a mustang V6 2011 (25K). Yeah its foreign and more expensive but not because the engine is that much better. Nissan V6 vs ford v6 = Nissan wins. Nissan doesnt make a V8 and the 370Z cant compare or win against the mustang V8 GT 2011.
So comparing apples to apples, you would have to take say the Nissan GTR which is nissans flagship, vs a vette z06 or a shelby/saleen. Not really sure who the top car would be.
You dont have to buy a car every year to support a automaker… i dont think they except the average worker to buy a car every year. The fact that you bought one and are driving it means you support the company. Im not saying i support nissan, what im really saying is i dont support the american car companies. I think ford might have actually not taken any bailout money or if they did they paid it back so props to them. That still doesnt excuse the shitty automobiles they have cranked out the last 20 years and the refusal to make a better product. They waited until doomsday to make a change.
