I would take 35 grand and build a better car. But I’ve never been a fan of new cars anyways(who wants to pay 15k for 2010 sticker).

Have you read this thread? The 2011 Mustang is a better car. It is better than the 2010 and the Camaro in many areas and there are at least 5 videos and links in this thread showing that.

One thing that bugs me are the windows on those. It’s like driving a tank. The sides of the doors come up so high that the start of the window is damn near neck level. I doubt you can even drop a window and hang your arm on the window ledge because of how high it is.
Visibility is limited as well around the car which to me would make you more prone to an accident if you really do haul ass down a freeway.

Mustang, no contest. Camaro is the bloated rotten corpse of today’s American auto industry.

OnStar? How is that seriously part of this decision? Granted, it’s a cool service, but no real gearhead will ever say the words: “Camaro wins because it has OnStar” [/quote]
Dude, I didn’t claim to be a “gear head”. I like cars and did my research. I test drove the ones I liked and compared again.
One thing I can say is that COMPETITION is the mother of technological advances. There would be no improved 2011 Mustang if it weren’t for the competition. I pretty much hated every version before maybe around 2005 or later.
I agree with you in the Camaro. They filled it with a lot of fluff but the heart just isn’t there.
Is this really a question? Mustang hands down. There’s a reason the Camaro died.
So much Hate for the Camaro and Challenger…geez…can’t you guys just appreciate the cars and the history? I guess I’m sayin that cause I’m pretty neutral and love all cars…but come on! Although the Camaro and Cuda are my favorite muscle cars…I do give credit where credit is due.

I have no hate for either but I have noticed that the Ford Mustang seems to be the underdog here. I think a lot of people were shocked that the Mustang beat both cars in 2011. I have talked to random people about Mustangs and most seem to be stuck in 2002 or earlier as far as their perception.
The challenger was the slowest of all of them.
I am hopeful for the future because this will force both companies to do better in years to come.
There is nothing wrong with competition.

Firstly, I admit I did NOT read many of the posts, and didn’t realize you were actually buying one of these vehicles… I thought this was general discussion. My last post came across more inflammatory than I’d intended.
Second, I love the mustang, think it’s a classy, well built sportscar. However, it seems to me that many american sports cars are bigger on looks, and lower on build quality, and I suspect that the new dodges (ie. camaro, challenger) fit that trend.
I hope this posts is a little clearer & less agressive.

This is what’s supposed to happen. Unfortunately, there are other forces at work which I won’t pollute this thread with.
Ford gets it. Ford has gotten it for along time now. They lost their way in the 70’s, but out of the “Big 3” seemed to be the only one that relatively got the lesson. They committed a classic marketing mistake by temporarily renaming the Taurus, but the corrected (same car line, different name, sales plummeted).
It’s really the performance and handling comparisons that have let the Mustang rise to the cream of the crop, definitely out of the big 3 for it’s price and class. And in this case, price:performance ration is outstanding.
This should only get better for Ford. They are absolutely delivering a consumer driven product versus a ‘niche stamp’. Camaro was dead. Challenger was dead. Charger was dead (and reborn as a performance family car). Mustang survived in-tact.
The others were brought back as retro curiosity, and frankly, the reborn Camaro was an afterthought for GM. GM is a follower. They’ll be leading (they claim) the US charge on electric vehicles but are still behind Japanese companies, so still really following.
Ford is leading American muscle (for the price).
I’m with you SteelyD, the Challenger is an 11/10ths scale of the '71. All real '71 Challenger R/Ts are rolling over in their graves from the abomination that is the “New” Challenger.
And don’t get me started on the Charger, WTF does this Photobucket | The safer way to store your photos have to do with this POS http://www.allpar.com/images/dodge-charger/front-view.jpg
The new Camaro is only a slightly better lop of shit, the previous GTO could have been an amazing seller if they didn’t make it look like a Cavalier, and the worst part is it wasn’t even a GM design a Australian offshoot is the one that made it and GM noticed they were selling a fuck ton of them down under.

The marketing team at GM that decided to badge that abomination as “GTO” should be castrated.
Some fun:

Roush:
… and of course, the iconic Steve McQueen Bullitt car chase:
Update:…this car looks bad ass in my garage.
But I have learned black on black smudges even easier than all white. I’m going to have to keep a freaking buffer pad with me at all times.
PICS!!!

No pics until I get the shoes on it. I have to wait until they come in.

OK. Until then, we’ll just speculate.
