Camaro Vs Mustang

Ohh Mustang II the car that should never have been born.

Can’t wait to see the new ride X, makes me feel good to know that you went in the right direction.

Yeah…

there is nothing more sexy then an all black 1969 chevy camaro Z28

You mean this?

I personally think if you are going in that direction…the Supernatural (tv show) car may beat it (the 67 Chevy Impala).

67 Shelby GT350

or a late 60s mach 1

that is exactly what i mean. I just checked out the 67 Impala, nice car, but it looks a little too big with not as many curves in the body. I am probably just biased though, i have been fascinated with the 69 camaro ever since i saw one when i was 13.

prof x- did you check out the Dodge Charger 2010 or even better maybe take it for a test drive? I saw one the other day, all black, and it was pretty damn nice.

I think I just like the show Supernatural…and they do a good job of showing off that car (maybe even classier than Dukes of Hazard did with the General Lee). It looks more aggressive than the Camaro.

Naw. I don’t like the look of the front of that car. I like old model Chargers like you see in old movies with great car chase scenes…or that movie Death Proof by Tarantino which may have one of the better car chase scenes of this generation in my opinion.

PX- are there tinted windows laws in Houston?[/quote]

Yeah, there are but I don’t know what they are. the dealership said they can put a “15%” tint on it but I want Limo tint if possible.

Dodge completely missed the mark with the Charger, at least by not offering a 2 door.

However, the Magnum (basically a Charger wagon) was a nice novel offering (dead now though).

Prof X, If you are thinking about buying either, I’d take the $35K you’d drop on a new car and buy a decent 2nd gen camaro (preferably a former race car w/ a straight body and full interior). YOu could drop in the LSx of your choice, transmission of your choice and get better looking, better performing vehicle.

This assumes you can do musch of the work yourself, otherwise, double the budget…Screw it, buy the new camaro.

2011 Mustang hands down…Boss 302 if you can afford it (make sure you save enough for the red key).

Personally I am saving my loose change for a WRX…

Everyone. He’s decided on the Mustang already. He’s already purchased it.

Prof: any idea when you’ll have some pics up on here?

I am waiting on my “upgrades” to be added. Right now it looks just like that pic I posted on page one. That may take two weeks or so.

Limo tint? You need MIRROR tint, bitch!

I’m not a big american car guy…I like german cars. That said, I did have a passing interest in the new camaro, especially after seeing a friend’s last summer with about 20k extra work  Car was beautiful. Until I rented and drove one for about two weeks. And that sir, is what I’d recommend you do. Rent one and drive it.

I thought the Camaro had terrible visibility for a sports car. When I’m ripping and running, I want good visibility…the Camaro has shitty visibility. And in my opinion, it would need some work to be a true sports contender - nothing fat rubber, some coil overs and stiffer springs couldn’t handle. It needs to be lowered and stiffened a bit in my opinion in terms of handling. The interior is blah. I lost my interest in the car after driving it a few days. Agree or not, I’d definitely rent one first.

Hey Professor X-stang,

How you likin’ the machine?

I saw 3 new camaros on the way to work. I like being different…plus the front end of the new mustang just looks cooler than it ever did in the past.

Still waiting on my tires.

It drives great and has more room on the inside than it looks but getting in and out of it isn’t as easy as my envoy and would have been way worse with the camaro.

X, the tint rating is the amount of light that is allowed to come through. 15% is pretty dad-gum dark. Limo tint is 5% and is illegal in most states for the front windows. My next door neighbor has a black mustang that he bought in Texas with “Texas Tint” at 15% and it looks just as good as limo tint but won’t get you pulled over by a d-bag cop at the end of the month trying to make his quota.

I have 35% all around on a silver MB and it looks pretty good. Any darker on silver wouldn’t look right. 50% is the max legal on the front in VA, but I haven’t had any trouble. I also don’t have a front plate (illegal in VA), but on a modest 2002 MB with collegiate alumni tags, the cops don’t think I’m a drug dealer, so they leave me alone.

Thanks for that. That makes me feel better about getting the tint from the dealership. I HATE that I had to drill into my frame to put a license plate on the front.

My car won’t be “complete” for another week or so.

You don’t have to drill into the frame. It’s just the plastic bumper cover, unless you have some ridiculously stout license plate mount. But I hate to have to do that to the bumper cover as well.
