I’m not fussed, to be honest… I’m looking at it as a chance for my injuries to heal a bit. And it’s a holiday for Pete’s sake! Time to ride rollercoasters and eat ice cream! I generally don’t put much weight on during these trips due to being on my feet a lot, even if I’m not actively exercising. On my Korea/Japan I ate shit-loads and came back the same weight, but with a waist half an inch smaller. Then again, I’m not eating yummy Asian food this time, but American food. I’ll try to make the healthiest choices I can but I’ll have to inhale some crap on most days, I expect. Heh.
you know your a coaster head when you have a favourite seat in a ride on the other side of the freakin ocean ![]()
Yup, really looking forward to it now.
However, Aunt Flo (bitch) is later than I expected, so instead of getting her out of the way before I go, I’m most likely going to have to deal with clots and cramps on a transatlantic flight. After which we’re going straight to a park. With 36 degree heat. Oh and I’m having the worst break-out for 10 years. My face looks like a fucking pizza. Why, God, Why?
Tomorrow I find out if I get fired or not. Ironically, I got the employee of the month award yesterday. That won’t stop my boss from firing me, though, if he’s of a mind to. I was supposed to get two placements in May and failed (but I did get one on June 1st).
Do you think your mood/strength/immune system is taking a hit because of your diet? When I was doing the RFL, it was only for the short term…and there was always free meals and a refeed…but that diet was not meant to be done for the long term…
It makes no sense to get employee of the month and fired in the same month. Bosses is crazy.
MiM - I think it’s due to the stress of sick parents and work, quite honestly.
Cal - I am SOOO Late catching up… but I am pumped for your trip! I know you will have an awesome time!
BTW… how do you stave off motion sickness and headaches? I could ride rides all day long as a kid… but now I get nauseated and my head hurts after just a couple of rides… but I love 'em! So I usually just deal with it. But I would love any advice! =D
Impressed with the training! I know what you mean when you say you are not motivated cause you can’t do the big three… SH*T! I haven’t done the big three in my training program since January! =-/ It’s like I lost some of my best friends! Oh well… hopefully I can add them back in again soon! =D
Have a blast! And tell Aunt Flo what a whore she is for me… thanks!
Here’s hoping you get good news on the job front, good luck.
wishing for positive news on the job - just prior to a vacation
Cal, I just re-read the first page of this log, and cracked up.
Anyways. Aunt flo is indeed a bitch. And nice lat pulls 50kg is impressive.
Oh and 6 miles is a long run, damn. I wish I could just go run 6 miles. shit.
Molly - I don’t know, the rides are hitting me harder these days, for sure. I find more of them give me a headache too - I half wonder if this is down to the wear and tear in my neck. And in the last couple of years I’ve actually got sick as well. In 2008 we had an ERS (exclusive ride session - basically the club has the coaster to ourselves for half an hour or an hour) on Titan at Six Flags Over Texas.
It’s a nice, big coaster but the helixes produces some ridiculous G-forces. And it was a hot day. After quite a few back to back rides, I suddenly realised my mouth was filling with saliva. I actually puked in my mouth on the brake run, had to swallow it and then went and ralphed outside the station. I was so embarrassed.
Same thing nearly happened again in Korea on T2 (a big wooden coaster which also had some wicked helixes) - I’d got through the ERS but couldn’t make the final ride because I knew I’d hurl if I did. And that wasn’t even at the end of a long day, like Titan.
I will have to be a little more conservative this time (or at least, not so ride-greedy).
In other news, I got fired today. Yep, employee of the month on Wednesday, fired on Friday. What a headfuck. I do still have to work my notice (or at least, the two weeks after I get back from holiday). The boss mentioned the possibility of hiring me on a contract basis in future if there was a need for it. Ultimately, he’s making a loss and I’m not making placements so I’m not taking it personally. I will have to have a think when I get back about what I want to do. In a way I wish he’d just fired me and told me to get out - at least I wouldn’t have to go back to work with jetlag.
I managed to squeeze a very short workout in this morning (because I had to be at work for 8am):
Superset
Chins: 4, 3, 2
Decline Push-ups: 10, 10, 10
Military Press
Bar x 10
25kg x 8
30kg x 5
32.5kg x 3
Each set followed by one pull-up
Lat Pulldowns
40kg x 10
45kg x 8
Didn’t go up to 50kg - felt too fatigued
Dumbell Shoulder Press
14kg x 10
16kg x (I forget, was it 8 or 6?)
Anyway that was all I had time for. I wa disappointed to find my weight had gone up again to 148lbs. I blame Flo and a the fact I haven’t pooped in days (also caused by Flo). Oh and the bitch is still vaguely threatening to appear, but hasn’t quite arrived yet. Fuck.
sorry to hear about the job…but you already sorta knew it was coming…still sucks.
Have a safe and fun trip!!!
PS- your making me nervous about how your AF is late.
Well I’m not nervous for that reason since I haven’t got laid in months… sad face
oh ok, phew!!
Shit Cal… you are going through a lot right now! =-/
At least you have 2 weeks of work when you get back so you can be looking for a job then. Does England have any version of “unemployment” (compensation from the government after you get fired while you look for another job?) Oh well… sounds like your job was stressing you out and sucking the life out of you anyway… Prob best for you in the end.
Have a BLAST! And try not to get sick! (those were some horror stories you talked about above! YIKES!)
We do have unemployment benefit but actually I have a nice buffer in my bank account and I don’t think I’d actually be entitled to the benefits (which are pitiful anyway). I’ll figure out a few things when I get back - I’m not going to panic for a while.
Yay for not panicking! Boo for the job head-fuck. At least you know what the deal is so that you can move on.
aw man Cal! I’m glad you are sorta ok financially, but that sucks!! I’ll be sending good karma vibes for you…
jobs stuff is scary, but sounds you’ve been smart to save in the past. i send booty karma too… everyone needs booty…
Heh thanks peeps. I’ll be back on the 20th - I may be too tired to post but we’ll see.
You girls be good (augh, who am I kidding? Be bad!) while I’m away.
Cal!!! so much a want to say but fuck it!!
Just have a great time on your trip - eat, sleep, ride coasters, and reeeelax!
See you soon ![]()
