Mmm…sounds delicious! You tease!

Your cocktail of tea, nicotine gum and ChestEze makes me smile. I imagine if you crush these ingredients together and smoke it over tin-foil you might turn into a magical dragon! I’ll go first…

Excellent training. Those millies ARE strong!

Great news about the shoulder. Awesome MP pr!

Now shake that cold and that period. FUUUCK!

Seriously 11 days?! That sounds horribly draining. I had one period that was like that and by the end I felt kinda weak/shakey. I probably needed a good hunk of beef or something to load up on iron.

That gymnastics stuff sounds cool. You’re making me want to put my kid in gymnastics for his “thing”, ha. Ya know all kids gotta have a thing at a certian age, and I can’t see myself being a hockey mom.

Anyway, just checking in! Hope you’re feeling at least 95% better by today!

I don’t really notice it, to be honest. It’s just annoying. I actually thought it had stopped last night (day 12) but no, it was back this morning. FFS! It’s light but it’s fucking persistant. GO AWAY!

Wicked arm and shoulder DOMS yesterday - that Tuesday workout did something. As for the cold, it’s getting better but I don’t expect it to be fully gone for about a week. My nose isn’t too runny thank goodness, but I have quite a lot of cattarh so I’m constantly snorting and spitting. Bleh. I have to do netball club tonight, which is oversubscribed, and I am not looking forward to it. If it’s raining, I’ll make them do circuit training. I hope it rains!

Hi Cal

I had a period that lasted a couple of months, that sucked, the doc gave me a pill that was supposed to bring on my period(morning after pill?) it was supposed to bring on a normal period which would end the long period. It worked and then I went on the pill for a while to make sure things stayed normal, but you have probably not had yours long enough for the doc to do that. :-/

Nice to have strong shoulders again. I can relate.

Time to see the Doc?

Cough, cough. Sniffle, sniffle. I feel your pain. Nice work on the millies!

oH YAY PERIOD TALK!!! woot

I don’t get mine. Depo since I was eighteen. Every oh two years I will go off the shot to make sure everything still works… well it does and the ensuing CARNAGE convinces me to never go off the shot again. I have heard of girls going batshit cray cray on depo… or getting a never ending period it also can make you gain weight. For me no period and if it made me crazy well its normal to me now after all these years.

Twelve days? I would seriously FUCKING RAGE OMG. Have you ever used various types of BC like the pill to try to regulate it?

I am anti-pill and at 44 I think I am too old to start now. I don’t like the idea of putting artificial female hormones into my body. I’m not a fucking milk cow. I might be open to using some progesterone cream or something, if I am indeed low on pro. Or a cycle of Anavar. (Joke. Or not.)

I have been invited for a check-up which is routine for all elderly people (ie, 40+) where they do cholesterol checks, BP etc, so will ask if they can check hormones as well.

You should get iron levels checked too. I’m guessing 12 days has left you a bit anemic, and is probably also contributing to your getting sick more often lately.

not just iron but feritin too.

[quote]mom-in-MD wrote:

Feritin is the protein in hemoglobin that carries the iron. Therefore when we test iron levels we actually test for serum ferritin levels. Ferritin is an iron deficiency test rather than a general anemia test, the latter of which would be a hematocrit.

um ok.

fuck just trying to be helpful.

Yeah, me too. I know you like to have accurate information about these things and was offering some.

Oh you want some, I could give you LOADS. Yeah, I went off the pill years ago, aint never going back no matter how much aunt flo messes with me.

If it makes you feel better mine just came back with more flo than aunt. Don’t know WTF is going on.

I will NEVER NEVER NEVER go off depo they will have to pry it from my cold dead ovaries. literally.

I have zero desire to procreate and if possible even less of a desire to deal with all those feminine hassles. I remember the first time I got my period and my mom told me I still had to go to school I was ABSOLUTELY FLABERGASTED. W.T.F. you have GOT to be kidding me. I mean that just can’t be right. I am seriously in more awe of fertile women for putting up with periods than I am in awe of them for giving birth.

Hope Aunt flo picks her shit up soon cal!! I just went off the pill after giving it a whirl for 6 months and I cant say it was a nice experience. Maybe your just stressed or some change is happening and things are wonky…
anywhos I am NOT the lady to talk to about period help…so I just offer you my support!

i was on the pill for a number of years but it really messed with my libido.

i think the ephedrine helps training. at least i’m fairly sure that was what was responsible for my getting hooked on interval type cardio training in the first place. effects are subtle… but slight performance increase (guess that is why it is a banned competition stimulant) and really helps with the natural high thing.

a vid of your gymnastics would be cool. i’ve started learning… but have given up on cartwheels on my offhand. damned things are hard.

All that made my arms and shoulders look pretty swole, if I might say so myself. Can’t wait to rip the fat of them so my horseshoes look even more obscene.

well you certainly don’t sound like a sick old crow
looking forward to the vids and pics.
last workout is insane condering the cold, the flo and the overdose. I’d be home crying.

Well, it’s broken the two week mark. At this rate I won’t get a break before the next one shows up. As I said it’s very light so it’s no bother really but I’d rather things went back to normal. That and my sex drive has disappeared. Even when I feel like rubbing one out, the orgasm is so pathetic it’s hardly worth the effort. Maybe I should start on that pot of trib capsules I’ve got in the cupboard.

Cold’s still going - eyes feel gritty, throat is scratchy and my nose is a bit runny but otherwise I can function pretty well. I have energy, which is the main thing.

I did have two nicotine gums, a Chest-Eze, 100mg caffeine and two mugs of tea before the gym (oh and glutamine and 1g vit C, which is what I chuck down as soon as I wake) so whilst I didn’t feel particularly wonderful this morning, I had a burst of energy once I got into the gym and started warming up. Enough that I seemed to be in there for around two and a half hours. Could have gone longer, too, but for the fact it was getting quite busy and I needed to hit the supermarket.

Warm-up: hypers, reverse hypers, clams, stepovers.

Superset (part 1 - Millies and Squats):

Bar x 15/25
25kg x 12/20
30kg x 10 (+1)/15 <—10 reps is a recent PR on the MP (I think I did 12 once, a few years ago)
32.5kg x 7/12
35kg x 5/10
37.5kg x 3/10
40kg x 1/10 <—Failed first try on the 40 AGAIN - wtf is up with that? Got it up 2nd try, then did ma squats)

Superset (part 2 - Squats and lateral raises):

45kg x 10/4kg x 30
50kg x 5/4kg x 30 <—Had to take a pause at rep 4 due to the light-headedness but I got the rest done).
55kg x 2/4kg x 30 <—Went for a 3rd rep at 55kg but half cut it, so it didn’t count.

The rational here was to give my delts a good frying once I reached a squat weight I could no longer shove over my head.

Superset: T-Bar rows (neutral grip)/Decline push-ups (feet on the T-bar)

20kg x 12/8
25kg x 10/8
30kg x 10/8

Think I should go for sets of 10 next time I do the push-ups. They’re quite challenging, though, as I use a shoulder-width hand spacing.

Sort of Superset: Chins/Bench Press (sort of because it was more like alternate exercises, with some rest)

Chins: 3
Bar x 15
Chins: 3
30kg x 10
Chins: 2
40kg x 10
Chins: 2
45kg x 8
(dropped the chins thereafter)
50kg x 5
55kg x 3
60kg x 1 <—Had a spotter and it was a bit of a grind. I wouldn’t be completely confident doing it on my own but hey, 60kg. I’ll take it).

After that I did some handstands a few shitty cartwheels before the mats got too full. After that I did a lot of stretching and worked on my splits. Hammies are pretty flexible but external rotation of the hip seems to be a problem for me. If I sit in a cobbler pose I can’t get my knees very far down at all.

Diet: well I’ve not been 100% with it. The cold weather, my perma-period and snots have left me feeling in need of cheering up somewhat so I’ve had a few goodies after teaching - a flapjack one day and trail mix on the others. In fact, I bought a bag of trail mix on the way home yesterday which I scarfed down because I was starving and then realised I’d eaten 2,600 calories-worth. BAD CAL. Heh. But I am still a pound down from last week. Current weight is 11 stone (154lbs/69.8kg). Nudging under 70kg is nice. Nudging under 11 stone would be even better. Now if only I could take a decent dump, that would happen, but as usual I am backed up. The only time I can poop normally seems to be when I eat awful stuff like cakes.

And apologies for all the poop, period and snot talk, but that’s my life at the moment.

Circuit training tomorrow.
