Well, it’s broken the two week mark. At this rate I won’t get a break before the next one shows up. As I said it’s very light so it’s no bother really but I’d rather things went back to normal. That and my sex drive has disappeared. Even when I feel like rubbing one out, the orgasm is so pathetic it’s hardly worth the effort. Maybe I should start on that pot of trib capsules I’ve got in the cupboard.
Cold’s still going - eyes feel gritty, throat is scratchy and my nose is a bit runny but otherwise I can function pretty well. I have energy, which is the main thing.
I did have two nicotine gums, a Chest-Eze, 100mg caffeine and two mugs of tea before the gym (oh and glutamine and 1g vit C, which is what I chuck down as soon as I wake) so whilst I didn’t feel particularly wonderful this morning, I had a burst of energy once I got into the gym and started warming up. Enough that I seemed to be in there for around two and a half hours. Could have gone longer, too, but for the fact it was getting quite busy and I needed to hit the supermarket.
Warm-up: hypers, reverse hypers, clams, stepovers.
Superset (part 1 - Millies and Squats):
Bar x 15/25
25kg x 12/20
30kg x 10 (+1)/15 <—10 reps is a recent PR on the MP (I think I did 12 once, a few years ago)
32.5kg x 7/12
35kg x 5/10
37.5kg x 3/10
40kg x 1/10 <—Failed first try on the 40 AGAIN - wtf is up with that? Got it up 2nd try, then did ma squats)
Superset (part 2 - Squats and lateral raises):
45kg x 10/4kg x 30
50kg x 5/4kg x 30 <—Had to take a pause at rep 4 due to the light-headedness but I got the rest done).
55kg x 2/4kg x 30 <—Went for a 3rd rep at 55kg but half cut it, so it didn’t count.
The rational here was to give my delts a good frying once I reached a squat weight I could no longer shove over my head.
Superset: T-Bar rows (neutral grip)/Decline push-ups (feet on the T-bar)
20kg x 12/8
25kg x 10/8
30kg x 10/8
Think I should go for sets of 10 next time I do the push-ups. They’re quite challenging, though, as I use a shoulder-width hand spacing.
Sort of Superset: Chins/Bench Press (sort of because it was more like alternate exercises, with some rest)
Chins: 3
Bar x 15
Chins: 3
30kg x 10
Chins: 2
40kg x 10
Chins: 2
45kg x 8
(dropped the chins thereafter)
50kg x 5
55kg x 3
60kg x 1 <—Had a spotter and it was a bit of a grind. I wouldn’t be completely confident doing it on my own but hey, 60kg. I’ll take it).
After that I did some handstands a few shitty cartwheels before the mats got too full. After that I did a lot of stretching and worked on my splits. Hammies are pretty flexible but external rotation of the hip seems to be a problem for me. If I sit in a cobbler pose I can’t get my knees very far down at all.
Diet: well I’ve not been 100% with it. The cold weather, my perma-period and snots have left me feeling in need of cheering up somewhat so I’ve had a few goodies after teaching - a flapjack one day and trail mix on the others. In fact, I bought a bag of trail mix on the way home yesterday which I scarfed down because I was starving and then realised I’d eaten 2,600 calories-worth. BAD CAL. Heh. But I am still a pound down from last week. Current weight is 11 stone (154lbs/69.8kg). Nudging under 70kg is nice. Nudging under 11 stone would be even better. Now if only I could take a decent dump, that would happen, but as usual I am backed up. The only time I can poop normally seems to be when I eat awful stuff like cakes.
And apologies for all the poop, period and snot talk, but that’s my life at the moment.
Circuit training tomorrow.
