Cal's Big Log 3D - Attack of the Giant Arse

hope you beat this bug soon.
pyramid head is weird.

you were in a dream I had last night.

Unfortunately you died from eating some kind of weird grain. I’m sorry. :frowning:

It was weird!!!

^ Weird post Mim.

Cal, does rolling with a med ball work for you? People keep ganking the foam roller at my gym. I think our med balls may be different though, they have give to them. Are yours hard?

Ha ha, I asked if your balls are hard.

We have the Reebok balls that come in different colours. The smaller balls are a bit soft but the medium (orange) ball is hard enough to use. The larger balls are, well, too large for the purpose. I only use 'em for lower body - they’re not so good for upper back and such.

MiM, that is weird. I did eat some bread when I was at my friend Col’s place - I didn’t die. I did have the shits when I got home, though. Serve me right, I guess.

ya, it was weird. But I can’t help what I am dream!!

glad you are ok!! well, accept for the shits.

Heh, it wasn’t bad - just colon saying “hey, get this wheat garbage out of me! NOW!”

Virus is on the wane, thankfully, but I do feel tired. I was in bed and head down by 10pm yesterday. Hoping to make circuit classes this weekend.

I’m glad you are finally on the mend. How is the foot doing? I’m hoping you can get some runs in before the weather gets too nasty.

Have you ever been formally tested for gluten intolerance? I only ask because your viruses seem to be correlated with bad food that you indulged in AND you have stomach issues.

I’m going to be exploring this for myself soon. I want to know FOR SURE once and for all. I had it when I was growing up but the Dr’s told my Mom I would ‘grow out of it.’ I’m not so sure.

Hope you’re feeling even better. I think I found a place that has MyProtein Chocolate Nut flavour, been dying to give it a try since you said it tastes like Nutella!

Meh! You can never tell with colds which way they’re heading - coming, going - ugh! And they do stick around for a bit…I think the expulsion of mucus is always a good sign though. You’ll be right as rain soon!

Hope you get in that circuit class too! Those classes always sound like fun.

Nutella?
Nutella?
NUTELLA?!?!

Did someone say nutella?

“MyProtein” is the brand? Is that just a UK thing?
SO IN ON THIS.

kimba - foot doesn’t seem to change. It’s happy enough when I’m sedentary, but it starts getting pissy when I do a lot of things involving toe flexion. I can run, as I’ve proved to myself by completing a 3 mile run in my Vibrams, but whether I should is another matter. If I get that appointment with the orthopaedic surgeon I will see what he says.

MiM - no I haven’t, but I know I feel better when I don’t eat it. I am most definitely not coeliac, but I get more joint pains (gluten attacks the gut lining, making it more porous and allowing toxins to permeate the rest of the body, causing inflammation), I get more bloated and I put on fat. I can indulge occassionally but if I start eating it regularly it’s not good. I did an experiment a while back where I ate a lot of bread and my joint pain went up exponentially and I got fat. So I stay away from it. I don’t think wheat is a good thing for anyone, to be honest. I’m very Paleo/Primal-minded when it comes to diet.

Techno - Awesome! The Impact Whey (which is the one that comes in a lot of flavours) makes a thin shake, which I like, but is not to everyone’s taste. A lot of shakes have a more viscous texture which I find disgusting, to be honest. They also do a banoffee flavour which is awesome as well.

Hallowed - yeah it’s a UK brand, mail order only although it may have found its way over to the US, I don’t know.

Maschy - Thanks.

Good news is that after being fucking exhausted this week I made it to the circuit class this morning. Wednesday I was in bed by 10, ditto Thursday and yesterday I went to bed at 9pm. I’d had a shitty commute home - delays on the Central line so I took another route only to find when I’d got to my next change, some inconsiderate cunt had thrown themselves under a train so I had to find yet another way home. Took me 90 minutes in the end. Wasn’t in much of a mood to do anything by the time I got home so I just went to bed early. I kept waking up in the night, though, thinking “is it time to get up yet? I’m bored of sleeping!”
Eventually got up at 5am.

Circuit class was tough but I got it done and felt better. Did a bit of handstand practise after. And now I’m just off to eat a big ass omelette with bacon (and broccoli…which doesn’t really go with bacon and eggs but I need my broccoli!)

I did not feel good this morning. Cold seems to have gone but I have been feeling a bit woozy and out of it since I woke up. Ate well yesterday so it’s not lack of food - probably post-viral. Still, I enjoy the Sunday circuit class and the prospect of leering at male totty kept me from snuggling in front of my latest computer game in my bath robe all day.

Problem was, when I got to the gym, the usual Sunday circuit instructor wasn’t there - the Saturday instructor was taking the class. He favours more cardio-type exercises including lots and lots of fucking burpees. Just what I need when I’m light headed. To add insult to injury, there were no hot guys either. Buggery.

Still, I sucked it up and did the class. I had to take a few breathers to stop myself greying out but I got it done. One of the other women was feeling the same way and said she’d been ill the past two weeks as well. Guess she had the same virus. I really hope it’s just a post-viral thing because it feels a lot like I was when my immune system went down the crapper four years back. Part of me thinks I should take it easy and part thinks I shouldn’t baby myself so much.

I’ve eaten a huge potato for lunch so hopefully that and a good night’s rest will see me right. I would like to do some proper training tomorrow.

aw. eye candy helps things be so much funner. sorry to hear you haven’t been feeling well. hopefully it is that you are fighting off a virus and you feel better soon. guess you guys are starting to move into winter since we are starting to move into spring. that is what they tell me anyway, though i feel like i’ve moved from summer into winter in moving from Aussie. I"ve actually found a protein powder that tastes too good to be true. Very soluble and delicious. Keep thinking that there must be something wrong with it…

I feel like when I get sick, it lasts forever, I feel your pain.

I also feel your pain on the sub instructor and no hot guys. Just throws off the week.

I think our gym went with cheapo med balls so we’ve only got small ones.

Urgh, so I haven’t trained today. I still feel woozy and yucky and tired. Abs are really fucking sore from circuits too - I couldn’t face the gym. I feel like a wuss but I’d rather be safe than sorry.
