Don’t mind Headhunter, he’s a known troll IIRC.

How long did it take you to increase your Dead lift weight?

That took about 10 weeks. But I wasn’t doing conventional deadlifts in that timeframe, I was doing Snatch Grip deadlifts, so the increase was just carryover from that.
I’ll bite.

Don’t have any photos or access to a camera… yet. I’ll be posting them next month some time.
Goals
Short term
Bench press: Up at at least 180 x 5
Squat: 250 x 5
Deadlift: 300 x 5
Press: 125 x 5

Lower my body fat to a level where I’m comfortable with my shirt off.
In general, I just want to get a lot stronger than I am right now. My main goal is to become a strong sonuvabitch, with size gains as a nice fringe benefit. I don’t consider myself strong now, but you have to start somewhere. Hopefully this log will help me get closer to my goals by keeping myself honest.

Been trimming down since high school football, but now I’m on a war path to get as big and strong as i possibly can.

I think you might be overestimating your bodyfat %, because at that weight and bodyfat there is no way you would be squatting 585.
This thread fucking sucks. Everyone posting their lifts in a BODYBUILDING section. Most people bullshitting their bodyfat percentage, as if it really matters. Pictures would be a lot more useful. I bet most of the lifting numbers are bullshit, too.
The generalizing is pretty funny. Plenty of big guys under 25, plenty of weak guys over 25. Let’s not forget that building muscle takes years, and there are way more guys over 25 than under 25, so the over 25 crowd is at an advantage if you want to compare total numbers of big guys.
Oh, I’m 25 and I’m weak. So don’t ask for my pics or stats.

This is progress thread for young guys who actually have motivation and drive to get bigger. where do your propose we hold this discussion? after all it is ‘bodybuilding’. everyone starts somewhere.
How long have you been training for. just out of curiosity?

LOL at being at an advantage. From what I gather, it is way harder to hit the gym like some of us when working full time or over 40 hours a week (especially if you have kids and a family) than it is when you are in college and you MAY work a part time a job.
I do NOT see “plenty of big guys under 25 years old” anymore…unless your idea of “big” is what you see in some Abercrombie ads.
Most of the seriously big guys I see (as in big enough to look like they could be just months of dieting away from hitting a local comp as a heavy weight or at least light heavy) are in their 30’s and 40’s. I see very few with that type of dedication anymore looking like they are just out of high school or in college.
I agree that pictures speak louder than words, but most of these guys are beginners posting in this thread. Unless you can do better than their stats and have your own pics up, keep the negativity on a lower level.
People without pics don’t get to bitch about the lack of others.

Lift stats
Bench: 270 x 6 / 120lb db’s x 12

Okay, first time posting, long time lurking, all that crap.
Here are my stats, pics are in profile (though admittedly grainy, fuzzy and with bad lighting, due to me only having a camera phone)
Age- 23
Weight- 168 to 170 (fluctuates daily)
Height 5’5
years training (total)- 8
years training (consistently) 3
Bench- 315
Dead- 405
Squat- 365
Goals- to be a solid 180lbs. At my height I think i would look good at that weight. Although even with eating 4k a day at least I cant seem to top 170.
Don’t need to be the most ripped, but some degree or leanness would be preferable. Also want to get as strong as I can- no real number goal for that. Just want the lifts to keep going up. Following a modified west side plan 4x a week with relatively clean diet. I stress “relatively”.
Anyway, I plan to post regularly now that I’ve stopped lurking. Hopefully I can contribute positively.
in this picture I’ve attached i was about 19 yrs old and 225 lbs with about 8% body fat (yes it was measured by a doctor so its accurate). that is after training for about 2 years on and off due to sports interfering. On a scale of one to ten i would rate myself a 5 or 6 out of 10 in that picture due to a lack of sufficient size everywhere but mainly my chest and legs.
I’ve been training muay thai as of late and so i am down to about 205, and now that I’ve given my life story i just wanted to say that I’m going to back into serious lifting for a winter bulk and create a log. the end.

Squat: 5x5 210 (95kg)

did I understand this^?
and…
in just ONE MONTH?
constantly, from workout to workout? (not only one fucking time?)
and still progressing huh?..
and weight 150 (68kg) at 5’10’’

Good call on the pictures. Taking some tonight and will post them with the “after” shots in a month. I would post them up now but there’s not much to look at. Not posting up my logs either. I keep everything logged in a book but posting it is just a pain in the butt and takes too long.
Just turned 22 about a week ago. This sounds like a great idea. I already have a log up detailing my training.
I don’t normally post in the bodybuilding forum but even though I train to compete as a powerlifter, I also train like a bodybuilder to develop a decent physique as well. I’m a lighter lifter (165 class) and my goal is to keep gaining and fill out to the 198s. Training wise I haven’t missed a workout at all for the past year, unless I was on vacation or something. Diet wise… this is a big problem for me. I usually just say that “I’m a powerlifter, i just eat whatever and don’t have to stress about 6 meals a day like a bodybuilder”. My main goals are to be consistent with accessory training (not just squat/bench/dl) and follow a diet that helps me gain as much mass as possible.
Stats
Age: 22
Weight: 155-165
Height: 5’ 8"
BF%: pretty low
Skill level: Beginner (Since May 2008)
supplements: Protein, Creatine
Lift stats
Bench: 105kg (231lbs) paused rep
Squat: 140kg (300lbs) belt/wraps
Deadlift: 150kg (330lbS) belt
Goals:
Since I want to complete… as much as possible for each lift, I can’t set a ceiling since I train with guys who regularily put up big numbers every day.
Physique wise:
BIgger on everything. I love powerlifting, but it’s kind of a drag having to tell people that you compete as a powerlifter instead of them asking you, haha.
New PR on incline bench today, up 30lbs from my original post.
Did 185x10. Was only doing 160x6 before.
I curled 185. Also hacked equated 500 x 3 and benches 340 x 3 a week ago. I turned 19 in July.

Haven’t maxed squat since I was about 215 But back then a was a lot higher BF%. When squat, hang clean, and bench is the only thing you do as far as heavy weight training you get really good at it.
