read this thread, so it inspired me to start a log.

Whats so unrealistic about it anyway?
Why are some of you posting such pathetic stats? That’s why people get called out and thrown into unreasonable categories.
I hope know one calls out the under 25 crowd again. I guarentee the number of strong guys under 25 surpasses that of the over 25 crowd. Granted the strongest guys in the over 25 crowd are stronger than the strongest guys in the under 25 crowd but that still doesn’t mean there are more…
I’ve been on this site for awhile, never really say much, but I’m doing a show in april so ill be on a little more.

This thread fucking sucks. Everyone posting their lifts in a BODYBUILDING section. Most people bullshitting their bodyfat percentage, as if it really matters. Pictures would be a lot more useful. I bet most of the lifting numbers are bullshit, too.
The generalizing is pretty funny. Plenty of big guys under 25, plenty of weak guys over 25. Let’s not forget that building muscle takes years, and there are way more guys over 25 than under 25, so the over 25 crowd is at an advantage if you want to compare total numbers of big guys.
Oh, I’m 25 and I’m weak. So don’t ask for my pics or stats.
LOL at being at an advantage. From what I gather, it is way harder to hit the gym like some of us when working full time or over 40 hours a week (especially if you have kids and a family) than it is when you are in college and you MAY work a part time a job.
I do NOT see “plenty of big guys under 25 years old” anymore…unless your idea of “big” is what you see in some Abercrombie ads.
Most of the seriously big guys I see (as in big enough to look like they could be just months of dieting away from hitting a local comp as a heavy weight or at least light heavy) are in their 30’s and 40’s. I see very few with that type of dedication anymore looking like they are just out of high school or in college.
I agree that pictures speak louder than words, but most of these guys are beginners posting in this thread. Unless you can do better than their stats and have your own pics up, keep the negativity on a lower level.
People without pics don’t get to bitch about the lack of others.[/quote]
I didn’t think my post was that negative. No more negative than most of your posts. But hey, since you’re a big boy, I suppose you earned the right to be negative?
More generalizing again. As if every guy over 25 works 40+ hours and has kids. As if every guy under 25 goes to college and works no more than 15 hours a week.
Regardless if I post pics or numbers, I don’t think you can disagree that building muscle takes time, thus the over 25 crowd has at least one advantage. Unless you expect every under 25 to be juicing since high school, and as far as I know, steroids shouldn’t be touched until age 25 or so, unless you are a professional athlete or bodybuilder.
Also, as I said, much larger sample size of +25 year olds than 18-24 year olds.
Still- I see no reason why either age group is going to bash the other. Plenty of beasts and sloths in both categories.
As far as my pics and stats- I posted them in a thread a week ago or so. My goals are to gain calf and thigh size before my upper body grows. I’m no beast, but I’m going for proportional. Sadly, I posted my numbers in my thread, to show how weak my squat was compared to my presses. I understand that size equals strength to a degree, but without pics in a bodybuilding section, strength numbers don’t mean much. Measurements would be a much better indicator. Chest, waist, arms, thighs. Just seems odd to me that so many people are posting lifts, without pics or measurements.
And I’m sure you’ll say my opinion isn’t valid because I’m small and weak.
ill post one tomorrow after my workout.
i honestly think i have the lowest bench of every lifter on this site.

It’s all these guys thinking they will make good progress and posting before the progress actually happens. I don’t really understand that. The time to start posting things like that is when progress has actually been made - e.g. your xx" arm threads.

He says he started lifting seriously for about a month. So it depends on how he defines seriously…

I dont c the point in lying. wouldn’t it just mean my progress would b alot slower if i was saying i could lift more than i can. and have to lie about progress. like my teachers always said.your only cheating yourself ![]()

and by seriously i mean going everyday/every other day and eating big and eating good.
used to jump in on trainin sessions with friends but nver consistantly. all my friends boned bench press so i had to try and keep up somehow, i used to pay basketball and can dunk it so already have a haf decent squat.
No offense, but these threads are worthless without pics, especially in the bodybuilding section.
Also, not to be a dick, but let me make it clear that no one is impressed when you post these super inflated future goals.
If I say my goal is to be Mr. Olympia, 290 lbs in competition shape, no one gives a fuck until I show that I am even capable of that.
Point being, stop posting arbitrary numbers and post pics, thank you.

This thread reminds me of all the talk I was forced to listen to when i was younger
“back in my day we used to walk to school, with no shoes, no jacket, in the freezing cold and pourin rain. And boy, let me tell ya, there was no hot showers for us when we got home, or tea. I used to sit in the river with an auld tea bag in me mouth, drinkin the water from the river, and suckin on the tea bag- that was my cup of tea i tell ya. Jez, we’d be lucky to get a spud for our birthdays, and a sup of watdar- you young lads have easy, yas know no hardship.”

That was hilarious and even more funny because I read it out loud with an Irish accent.
I’ll get in on this as well
just started a log about a month ago here as it is

What are you trying to prove. This thread was made because the under 25 crowd was considered weak. How about you guys wait until you’re strong until you post stats. Otherwise you’re just proving the subject matter of this thread.

This thread is now just about shitting on anyone who lifts less than you do?
