Jon, I think you should consider focusing more on pulling and squat in the future. Unless you have very unusual biomechanics you should squat alot more than you bench - and deadlift even more.

Yes I do realize this.
I am on my second round of Accutane, I know it’s not an excuse, I fucked my back up for 5 weeks because Accutane made my bones weaker or something, can’t remember what the doc said, have to look at the paper. Been working my way back up on squats an deads. I was doing pretty good before I went back on it.
Man, you fuck up your back, you can’t squat, deadlift, rack pulls, rows, etc. DONT MESS UP YOUR BACK!

Ah, well, I don’t have acne myself, so I don’t have experiences with that stuff, but it doesn’t sound nice.
And good luck on getting into shape again sir.

Plan to cut down to 185, 7% BF by mid-July. Then get up to 215 at most 10% BF in a year from now, as well as upping all these lifts by 50 lbs.
Very similar goal to mine, although I’m currently at a much higher BF and my lifts are weak compared to yours. But I am considerably detrained. Hopefully I can get to your lifting stats and 5-8% BF by Sept 1. If I get nowhere close, then call me the fuck out bitches, and I’m another 25 year old class of 09’er that deserves to be called out. 25lb gain is something to be proud of.

Geeeeeeez, relax man. You need to take a break and stop worrying so much about what people on the internet think of you.
I am late in two ways…i just turned 26 and im 7 days late on this thread but I’m doing this anyways
Not much compared to yalls numbers… but I blasted through my original summer goal of squatting 275 today. Did it for reps. Next goal: 315.
Well it’s August 30 and my short term goals are supposed to come to an end on September 1 so I figured I’d post up my progress. Here’s my original post on 6/5/09:
Current Lifts
Bench - 245 x 1 (2 weeks ago)
Deadlift - 275 x 5
Squat - 255 x 4
Standing Mil. Press - 145 x 5
Short Term Goals (September 1)
Bench 275lbs
Deadlift 375
Squat 315
Standing Mil. Press 180
Weigh 205 lbs
Run a mile in under 8 minutes
Long Term Goals (2 years)
185 lbs with visible abs
Bench 365
Deadlift 500
Squat 455
Standing Mil. Press 225
Run a mile in under 7 minutes
So far I have increased my bench from 245x1 to 225x5. When I benched 245x1 I could only do 205 x 5 so I figure this is a pretty significant increase. I can now do 210x11.
I took my deadlift from 275x5 to 315x6.
My squat is a little more complicated because I switched from parallel squatting to ass-to-grass squatting, but I feel very comfortable in my completion of my original goal of being able to squat 315 to parallel.
My military press went from 145x6 standing to 165x6 seated.
My weight is probably my biggest failure. I’ve stayed at the same weight and maybe even increased 5 or 6lbs since making my original post. I’ve noticed a significant body composition change so I know that a very good portion of this is muscle, but I’d still like to get my weight under control for general health / life longevity purposes.
My next short term goals (November 1) will be the following:
225 x 10 on bench press
335 x 6 on deadlift
275 x 12 ATG on squats
Weight 210
August 30th, Sophomore in college. Age: 19
Bench Press: 370
Deadlift: 600
Squat: 475 (estimate)
Weight 205
Height: 5’11’’
My goals by December or the end of the first semester are to increase my deadlift to 650, squat over 500 lb, and bench 405. I hope to maybe gain 10-15 lean pounds, but that is not a top priority.

yawn
next.
Age: 20
Height: 6 foot even.
Started lifting back in March with Rippetoes Starting Strength. My stats on the first day of the programme were-
Weight: 178lbs
BF%: 10
Squat: 77lb x5
Dead: 100lb x5
Bench: 77lb x5
Press: 70 lbs
(sadly, yes, I am serious.)
Just finished SS, moved onto the Texas Method.
Currently at-
Weight: 226lbs
BF%: 17/18
Squat: 225lb x5
Dead: 310 x5
Bench: 187 x5
Press: 135 x5
Row: 175 x5
Short and long term goals? To get as big and strong as possible. When I’m happy with my size(probably around to the 245-250lbs mark) I’ll probably cut down to maybe 14 or 15% BF. I’m just not concerned with BF%, as long as I’m not fat I’m happy.
Just found this site about a month ago, but have been training hard for about 6 years now.
Age: 19
Height: 5’10"
Weight: 200
BF%: 15
1 RM
Bench: 365
Squat: 585
Dead: 500
Been trimming down since high school football, but now I’m on a war path to get as big and strong as i possibly can.
Been training seriously for about a month now.
Age: 19
Height: 5’10’
Weight: 150
BF: 8% (so yeah, i’m as scrawny as they come)
i do 5x5 on:
Bench: 160
Squat: 210
Dead: 350

LOL!!
Alright, seeing as how this thread has been bumped, I guess an update is in order. I just got back from the gym where I squatted 4 plates with relative ease. I’ve increased my deadlift to 190kg*5, my shoulder press has increased by 33 pounds for reps and I’ve added an inch to my upper arm measurement and gained no bodyweight. All in all, not too shabby.

Long term goals: Get huge. What else?
