Calling Out the <25 Age Crowd

I decided posting what I plan to do is stupid and pointless. So I thought instead I’d post my progress since the 1st May - so, a month. Wondering, basically, if this is decent progress:

I’m only posting the measurement gains. If you want the actual measurements, fine, I’ll post them, but I don’t really see the point. I’m not going to bother putting + and - signs, they are all gains.

Neck: 0"
Chest: 2.5"
Shoulders: ~1.5" // didn’t actually measure these last month, but I remember measuring them a few weeks ago and the measurement was approximately 1.5" smaller than today
Waist: 0.5"
Upper arm: 0.5"
Forearm: 0.25" // I gave myself such a bullshit measurement last month, so my forearm has pretty much grown about 0.5"
Thigh: 2"
Calf: 0.25" // I was pretty sure I measured them last month at what I measured them today, lol. Wouldn’t be surprised since I don’t train them directly, although maybe I should start.

I’m 23, been training 6 years

5’8 195 lbs. 12% BF
Bench: 295
Squat: 365
Deadlift: 485
Plan to cut down to 185, 7% BF by mid-July. Then get up to 215 at most 10% BF in a year from now, as well as upping all these lifts by 50 lbs.

All of these numbers don’t mean much. I want to see someone under the age of 23 bench press 405lbs even if it with a spotter. I swear I see NO ONE in the gym who can do this anymore even though we did it by the age of 22. I feel like evolution took a step back over the last 5-10 years.

I don’t bench often because of shoulder problems but I have hit 395 in the past and I am only 22. I have no video so take it for what it’s worth. Granted I weigh a good amount I have decently long arms so benching was never my strong suit. Much more of a puller than a pusher.

If you can go with a 16yo deadlifting 500+ raw, then I’ll have some video for you in 2-3 weeks time. Deadlift is more important than bench imo.

I train there around 15 give or take, usually on mondays, wednesdays and fridays thats when my coach can come with me and Benni is also training and the spirit then is juust amazing he gets everyone pumped and going. Around that time the gym is really busy with people who are there to kick ass and take some names  How did you like it?

Ok GOOOOOD! Then we need to keep track on you young mister

Don’t think I’ll be seeing you there soon then, because I can’t workout at those times(Get bara aeft tharna um helgar ut sumarid). As for the gym though, I love it. Atmosphere there is awesome.

X, I’m 22 and hovering just a couple of lbs under 400 on the flat bench. Expect a video in a month or so.

thats cos you got a good dl lol

I don’t know what the deal is, but everyone that I lift with who is under 25 is hitting mid 300’s on bench for few reps, and squating above 400 easily. I’ve read alomst everyone’s post on here and havent seen anyone comparable to that (sorry if I have missed somebody). Im not trying to sound like an asshole. I just find it odd that there arent many people on this site who have impressive lifts when it’s so common for me to see it in my gym everyday.

Lets also not forget that guys in the 70’s and 80’s had action stars like Sly and Arnold to model themselves after, being “a man” was different back then. Now they have Toby McGuire and Brad Pitt. Now a days the fashion for guys literally is to wear girls jeans. Look at the bands of todays teenagers and its a who’s who of pussy boy emo kids with jet black hair covering their eyes and anorexic looking frames… Thats what these kids want to look like because its “in style.”

I think The Rock and Vin Diesel are really about all there are any more for kids to look up to in that regard. They dont make Conan and Rocky any more. The MMA guys, which every 4th guy I run into swears he is going into, are also pretty small (but with teh hawt abz).

I’m 22 and a serious lifter now for a little over a year

6’4 lil over 200 lbs now nearing 10 % BF

Recently got my dealift to 405 for 2

Bench progressed to 235 for 3

Squat 375 for 4 and 405 for 1 paralell

90 lb weighted dips for 6

Also recently passed 17 inches on my arms which plateau’d for awhile.

I’m eager to learn more each day and want to eventually work my way up to serious powerlifting.

Geez, you’re 6’4’’ 200lbs and have 17’’ arms? I’m not gonna say you don’t, but how did you manage that? I’m 250lbs, same height and I only got 16.5’’ arms.[/quote]

My friend gives me free PT when he’s home from college so he wrote me a 6 week plan which made me decrease my BF% by 6 so far and my arms grew a half inch, from 16.5 to a lil over 17.

My arms used to be at 17 inches back in 2008, but it felt to me like water retention from a creatine cycle. I was gettin near 18% BF Though. I had to put a stop to that. now im around 10 - 11 % still lowering about .5% every week and its been serving me well.

I’m 4 weeks in, so after another 2 weeks i hope ill be around 8.5 - 9%. MY goal after that will be to maintain that % while gaining a lean 20 lbs.

I need 4200+ kcal to gain a pound a week at my current height/weight/BF% and I plan to do so cleanly.

I mean for fucks sake, I diet down at 3000 kcal and have been eating nothing but protein shakes, grilled chicken, and brown rice with a veg sauce for the past 2 months. Im a culinary grad tho so cooking is still quite tasty.

Hey mebbe TMUSCLE needs a food writer?

Yes? When I’ve got long arms like I do, it’s very hard to build up a strong bench.

I did 405x5 around 8 months ago, so that made me 19. I was however, hypothetically of course, in the middle of a test cycle, so take that for what it’s worth.

Haven’t done much flat bench since then, just incline, much better chest development for me.

Probably before then, but you can bet they will be at least 20 when I’m weighing 290. My triceps are severely lagging in comparison to my bi’s. Never really did close grip bench or any of the big movements I should have been doing for tri’s. I’ve been doing CGBP heavy these past couple weeks so just brining my tri’s up to match my bi’s will probably add over an inch.

Estimated 1 rep maxes.
Age 19
Weight: 195lbs
Bench:
302 lb (137.3 kg)
Squat:
299.0 lb (135.9 kg)
Barbell Rows:
166 lb (75.5 kg)
Deadlift:
320 lb (145.5 kg)
Overhead Press:
181 lb (82.3 kg)

Weak compared to many of you guys. I know I know I’m working on it.
