Calling Ectomorphs: Program Help

This is a question for the ectomorph hardgainers out there who have had success with any of these programs (HIT, ABBH, WM, WSFSB, AHH), or others.

I am your typical hardgainer who has made good progress using traditional BB programs. I know that diet is definitely the most important factor, and caloric intake, but the traditional workout methods don??t work so well for the hard gainer. I have now plateaued, after gaining 30lbs (from 150 to 180lbs). I can??t seem to get past this point.

Has anyone else used a method that they would like to recommend, and why?

Man, being a hardgainer must suck so much. Dont kid yourself though, some ‘small guys’ use ectomorphism as an excuse for being small, when really they just ARNT EATING ENOUGH. Dont kid yourself.

Onto programs: they say usually low volume programs work best for hardgainers because of the ‘shock’ value. You could look at ‘pump down the volume’ splits, waterburies, EDT, or WS4SB. There are heaps of variations and ideas for SB like you. Look around (I notice this is your first post).

Dont be a troll, and use the search function. Also look up ‘The skinny bastard diet’. And if you can afford it, use 2g protein per pound of protein instead of 1.5

Usually if you are stuck at a weight, it just means EAT MORE. The point where you have gotten to is where what you are consuming is MEETING your caloric burn. You need to EXCEED that to put on weight. It might have been enough when you were 150, but you have a stomach-stretching journy ahead of you.

Thanks for the advice forevernade! Much apprecieted.

If you plateaud your weight, you probably should increase your caloric intake AGAIN. Now that you’re bigger, you burn more calories. It follows that you just have to eat more to compensate.
