Well I just got back from one of the most kick ass shows I’ve ever been to. Pennywise, Sum 41, Me 1st and the Gimme Gimmies, Less Than Jake, and Rancid all played! So in light of how pumped I’m feeling, I figured I’d start a thread for all us punk rocker t-men. Let’s here some of your favorite groups and albums. Ska enthusiasts are welcome to post too! Some of my favs are Propagandhi (obviously), NOFX, Less Than Jake, Rocket from the Crypt, Goldfinger, and Mad Caddies.
I’m not a huge punk fun, but an old roommate of mine introduced me to a band called Weston, they rock.
don’t like ska. Were you at warped tour? I plan on going when it hits montreal. Millencoline, lagwagon, Diesel Boy, Alien ant farm. Lots of good stuff out there.
Yeah I was at Warped Tour! We definitely caught a cool day. If you’ve got a chance to see Sum 41, definitely check them out cause they were the best show of the day. Other bands that are on the card that didn’t play today are the Rollins Band and Blink 182. I really wanted to see Rollins too. Oh well. Haven’t heard of Weston Hoser (good name), but I’ll check em out!
what do you consider punk? if you consider some of the older alternative punk (I know some people that do) they might be giants, violent femmes, and the dead milkmen are my fav’s.
Saw NOFX a couple of years ago in Santa Cruz. Definitely cool, except for the 14 year old girls in the mosh pit.
Yo, where in Montreal are you? Where do you train? I’m at McGill.
Anyway, a buddy of mine used to organize this concert in his backyard (country folk gots big backyards), and we partied w/ Sum41 before they were famous. Now you all can be green with envy. Even though I don’t like Sum41 all that much. And I’m kinda drunk.
I’m gonna date myself with this post but some of the best shows I’ve been to have been punk - Fear, Murphy’s Law, Snot (RIP)… haven’t kept up w/the newer stuff but cut my teeth on all the old school surf/skate stuff - Agent Orange, 7 Seconds, etc…Ah, memories…
Actually I’m in Ottawa, originally from Toronto. I used to go to warped tour in Toronto but this year it’s in the sky doom and I don’t think that that’s a very good venue. I used to go to Montreal to train though. I used go to one of the Olympic Weightlifting clubs there.
Fugazi has the most integrity out of any band out there.
Hmm Punk rock got boring, I was in the scene for 9 years, I was more into hard crust punk and old school punk. i’m more into Industrial these days, it’s the best out there
I also listen to a lot of trance.
When it comes to music Punk is definaltly the only thing i need to get Pumped… I’m going tomarrow to the warped tour here in Orlando. Nothing like running around a pit knockin skinny little degenarate twurps on there butts…WWWOOOHHHOOOO!.
By the way…millencolin is by far on top of my list…
Sum 41 is the shit! I’m seeing them and Blink 182 at Edgefest II in Toronto. Very excited. Mosh pits are fun for T-Men because we’re so much bigger than everyone else!
True, Sum 41 is very cool, and it’s fun as hell to go into mosh pits nowadays cause I’m usually the biggest dude in there. SubHuman, what’s “industrial?” Millencolin and Fugazi are rad too. Good call.
Rancid is a severly underrated band, mad caddies rock, I saw them live, and Goldfinger just kicks ass. Lata.

Wow…a post after my own heart…!
Fave bands of the moment and the past are NOFX, VANDALS, AMERICAN HI-FI, DEAD KENNEDYS, HIPPOS, LESS THAN JAKE, ONE INCH PUNCH, FRENZAL RHOMB, H BLOCK 101, SNUFF, MISFITS, BOWLING FOR SOUP and for all you feisty angry lads…AMEN
I’ve noticed your name, and they’re one my choices of a better punk band. I also like the Subhumans, the Cramps, and a few others. Classic punk–not this new “mall punk.”
I can’t beleive that no one mentioned OPERATION IVY one of the best in my book.
The only propaghandi that I like is "How to Clean Everything.
Nuthin’ will kick a workout into high gear like Social Distortion. Especially their albums “Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell,” and “White Light, White Heat, White Trash.” Mike Ness and the rest of the Social D. guys definitely sound like they graduated from Our Lady of Kick-Your-Ass High School. Rock on, T-lifters.
Very true E, Operation Ivy deserves much respect. It could be argued they started the movement. Doesn’t anybody listen to ska any more??? I haven’t heard any proponents for the toasters, suicide machine, reel big fish, save ferris, etc.
